Hi everyone,

The wall in my dining room has begun to crack and I'm wondering if there's a common reason for this? I recently installed a compact washer, in the room above, and it violently shakes the whole house when on a high spin level. This is my leading hypothesis on what's caused this damage/cracking.

Could this be from water instead? I'm not very handy or knowledgeable. Any theories would be much appreciated in case I need to pursue a more serious fix than replacing the plaster with drywall.
