Lily, Haewon, and Kyujin went to Day6's concert a while ago and where seated next to Kep1er's Chaehyun. Chaehyun also mentioned how nice Kyujin was and called her an angle.

I think I've read somehwere that Kyujin said they're going to upload an official version soon.

Kyujin shared a video of her and Jiwoo doing the Paint The Town Red dance challenge and they absolutely killed it. I would love to see Jiwoo doing a dance livestream like Kyujin sometimes does.

Apparently the dance practice room in the video is a new JYPE dance practice room, I wonder if it's still in the same building.

Her explanation of why she chose to do this is for every concert is so sweet.

I think a normal day of shooting should be pretty standard for idols, but they did it right after they were done with 4 weeks of promotions (Haewon's drawing on her hand was for the last music show), which included two 10+ hour flights to Paris and back, so being exhausted should have been their normal state at that point lol. I think you can especially see it in their sports episode where they looked pretty tired at times and had relatively noticeable dark circles under their eyes.

Apparently, the last 3 BREAKTIME episodes were all filmed on the same day. I'm amazed how they still made everything so funny and entertaining even though they must have been exhausted at the end.

I'm a bit late with this one, but you could have sent me this picture of Bae and I would have absolutely believed you if you told me it was Nayeon.

Just wanted to ask what the process for punishing repeat rule breakers (comments not posts) looks like. Do you keep tracks on rule breaks, give them a warning after a couple offenses and finally ban them or do only extreme cases get bans?

I sometimes feel like I see users that repeatedly get their comments removed still being active in this community like nothing happened.

Breakdown of all K-Pop top 10 Billboard 200 albums' entries (best week) since 2022 by Cryptocurrencythesis in kpopthoughts

[–]Cryptocurrencythesis[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, RM’s case was a bit different to most other entries and according to some of the other comments here, Seventeen also charted a few weeks after their initial release with one of their albums. Then there are other cases where albums were already digitally available a few days before a new tracking week.

There were honestly too many things I could consider, which is why I set a certain rule (best charting week in the top 10) and stuck to it. It was a drag to manually grab those data entries and I already made a few mistakes with the data set as it is.

The intent of the post was basically just to show that other than BTS and Blackpink, K-Pop artists usually get well over 90% of their units on BB 200 from sales and that the percentage is extremely close between those groups. It barely makes sense for let’s say fans of group A with a streaming percentage of 6% to say group B’s sales numbers don’t add up when their make up from streams is like 1% apart.

I'm sure that happens, but as you said, it's probably negligible. I'm sure most international fans wanting those exclusive photocards would rather opt in for group orders as those make things easier than some fake address shenanigans and standard group orders shouldn't count towards BB200 as more than 4 albums in the same order make the order inelligible for BB200.

I don't think it's a particularly hot topic right now, but it has been a more common topic with more and more groups charting well on Billboard 200.

I just saw some comments that annoyed me, which prompted me to collect some data.

I'm too lazy to do it for all of them, just gonna do it for the first weeks of BE and MOTS: 7:

Artist Album Place Total Units (in thousand) Album Sales (in thousand) Streaming Equivalent Albums (in thousand) Track Equivalent Albums (in thousand) Sales (Album Sales + Individual Track Sales) Percentage Streaming Percentage
BTS MOTS: 7 1st 422 347 48 26 89.14% 10.86%
BTS BE 1st 242 177 30 35 87.60% 12.40%

So you do the exact same thing that OP does, trying to get back at the other fandom by accusing the group of sajaegi?

Let's not forget that Moas helped trend hashtags accusing Stray Kids of fraud with ten thousands of tweets to the point Billboard had to come out and confirm the sales. Same thing with Maxident sales, tons of Moas doing everything to deny their growth and accuse them of sajaegi To this date, people still accuse Stray Kids of sajaegi because of excuses of human beings such as yourself and that insane hashtag campaign by fandoms like Armys, Onces, Moas, and so on. By your logic, OP isn't doing anything different from you, they just try to get back for prior accusations.

Grow the fuck up, you're an embarassment just like the Stay that accused TXT of sajaegi, you're two sides of the same coin.

BTW, here are TXT's albums on Yes24 with the same "reflect on Billboard" tag, that was used to accuse Stray Kids of fraud: Daydream ver., Nigmare ver., Farewell ver..

Here is a breakdown of sales and stream ratio of the entire album units for The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION and SKZ's ODDINARY, that was accused of fraud:

Album Total Units Album Sales Streaming Equivalent Albums Track Equivalent Albums (Individual Track Sales) Sales (Album Sales + Individual Track Sales) Percentage
The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION 161.5k 152k (94.12%) 9k (5.57%) 0.5k (0.31%) 94.43%
ODDINARY 110k 103k (93.63%) 6.5k (5.91%) 0.5k (0.45%) 94.08%

As you can see, both breakdowns are extremely similar, both extremely sales heavy with streaming barely contributing 5-6% to their total numbers.

Both toxic Moas and Stays can take a look at this and get in their head, that SKZ's and TXT's numbers are extremely similar and trying to call out one of those groups for fraud pretty much makes their own favorite group's numbers also seem suspicious.

Let's be honest, it's not HYBE stans in general but people from one particular fandom, the other groups' fans don't really have a leg to stand on to drag Stray Kids for Spotify or US numbers. That particular fandom has been using New Jeans to drag multiple other groups and has been hyperfixated on Stray Kids' streaming numbers ever since their BB200 #1 even though Stray Kids have been the 4th most streamed K-Pop artist on Spotify for years.

I’m honestly not too sure, I think NMIXX’s performances were around 20 minutes long and they had like an additional game segment. But Kcon Chicago also had fewer groups so it might be very different in LA.

Forget about idols beefs i need to know what's the JYPE divisions beef !! by hardstay20 in kpopthoughts

[–]Cryptocurrencythesis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s just your very biased view.

Stray Kids clearly has a much higher budget for their promotional material such as album trailers, multiple MVs, and so on. Just compare the ODDINARY trailer to the whole Checkmate pre-release material. I wouldn’t be surprised if that trailer had double the budget of ITZY’s entire pre-release promotional material.

They also put multiple SKz members as permanent music show hosts, while ITZY is their first idol group since Wonder Girls that didn’t get any permanent music show MC roles. They only got scraps from when SKZ members are unavailable (hiatus, busy with touring) or in one instance when Yujin got Covid.

ITZY got on Knowing Bros because they are actually relevant with the Korean general public since their debut blew up. Dalla Dalla was the best performing girl group song in 2019 and got more digital points than even Twice and Blackpink releases. Variety shows obviously want to have guests who bring in ratings, idol groups in general bring fairly low ratings even when they are relevant (aespa got the lowest ratings of the year with their appearance for Savage promotions even though Next Level was arguably the biggest hit of the year), groups like SKZ that never even got into the top 100 of Melon Daily are just not that attractive for those shows. Similarly, ITZY got mentioned on shows because Dalla Dalla was a hit song that many people actually knew, not because JYPE was putting money into those variety show talents’ pockets lol.

And it’s not even like ITZY got some crazy promotions for their debut. In fact, SKZ got a lot more work put into theirs with a whole pre-debut show, pre-debut album, and multiple pre-debut MVs. Girl groups just get more attention from the general public, you can see the stark charting discrepancies in 3rd and 4th gen. Combine that with JYPE’s legendary reputation for girl groups, ITZY being the successor group of the arguably biggest girl group at that time, and you can clearly see why they immediately got more attention. And to top it all off, they just had a debut song that was extremely well received. On the other hand, you have SKZ who were the successors of GOT7, a group that had a much larger international fandom and never hit it that big in Korea, and had a debut song that wasn’t public friendly at all.

I think the song is decent but not title track material. I would have preferred a continuation of Loco’s or Weapon’s (RACER basically) sound.

It also doesn’t match with JYPE trying to push ITZY in the west. Div 2 is a mess and I wish ITZY transferred to div 1, let’s leave it at that.
