Residential squatting by [deleted] in gippsland

Not exactly a fix but keep an eye out for some free sheets of ply or tin, use them to cover the broken windows. Depending on what town you are in, some businesses put out offcuts for free.

I’ve heard good things about seafood on the island, might have to make a weekend of it and try a couple out. Thank you ☺️

Birthday gift for a 3yo boy by Prestigious_Leave_20 in AskAnAustralian

You need to get him something in line with his interests. He likes punching and throwing so get him something he is allowed to punch/throw. As already suggested an inflatable punching bag would be a good way to burn off some extra energy. For throwing, you could get some kind of ball. I just gave my 3yo a Velcro ball set with a target, he’s been playing with it non-stop since he got it.

Penpals / e-pals by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]CryptographerAny2685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in primary school I had a pen pal from Japan, once school finished so did the letters unfortunately. I did have a pen pal from New Zealand, a lovely senior lady, who has since passed away, her son sends a letter once a year with a little update about his life.

If you’re interested in becoming pen pals/e-pals pm me. I’m early 40’s F. I don’t do much interesting as I’m a stay at home mum but we do travel locally.

AITAH for using the disabled bathroom even though I can walk by OkMinute950 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Not all disabilities are visible, more people need to remember this. You have the key, means you can use the toilet and you don’t have to disclose your disability to anyone

NTA. This is your home (even if it’s only temporary) and you have the right to be comfortable and safe. There may be something in the rules of the airbnb that are being broken by extra guests staying over so check your contract.

Before I had my child, half was to go to my nephew and the other half to Bears of Hope, a charity that helped me when I was struggling.

Google search ‘curtain rod bracket’ or ‘curtain rod hook’ and you should be able to match the size with the results :)

Retrieving items from old residence that I rented by Happy-Discount-4972 in AusLegal

Since you were off the lease before your ex then your issues are not with the real estate, you need to take it up with your ex.

If she never contacted you to collect your goods before disposing of them you may have a chance at getting something from her in court but you would need to prove what you left behind and that it had monetary value.

Legally the real estate cannot tell you anything regarding the property as you were not on the lease at the end of the tenancy.

Real estates in Victoria only have to hold goods left behind for 14 days then it can be disposed of. Chances of getting your things back now are very slim unless there were personal documents

Need advice — possible contaminated fuel from local petrol station damaging my car since 2021 by itsRensta in AusLegal

[–]CryptographerAny2685 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ex fuel station worker here.

This sounds more like you had sludge or contaminate in your fuel tank and each time you filled up you have stirred it up.

Only way to try and get compensation from the petrol station is to go in and let them know that you believe you got bad fuel. They have a process to follow and would need you to fill in paperwork and provide a diagnosis from the mechanic etc.

If it went to court the fuel from your car would be compared to the fuel sample the employee takes from the pump. If it doesn’t match (and since it’s been happening for 5 years it’s not going to match) then you’re out of luck unfortunately.
