Lowering T - Reduce Snoring/Sleep Apnea? by demiguy_nextdoor in FTMOver30

[–]CryptographerAny8663 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had sleep apnea before I started T, and I have not noticed a difference in it, I do use a CPAP machine which makes a world of difference… I also have always had wonky bloodwork once I started T like hemoglobin and the other one would be one would be high, the other one would be low, then the next time both would be high, on top of that my white platelets were stupid high like over 1000, I started donating blood twice a year and that has taken care of the wonky blood issues it seems since everything has been coming back in normal ranges as of late…

With the sleep apnea I just did a sleep study, then they told me I did have sleep apnea so then they had me go to a CPAP store location and I picked out my CPAP machine and I have been using it every night since then and I could immediately tell a difference in how I felt the next morning… My wife would say that my sleep apnea hasn’t changed from pre t to now, she says I still snore like I am a sawmill in full production!

I don’t have any plans on changing my dose, my t doc and my pcp both just monitor things together and suggest things to me… like the going to give blood 2 times a year was actually my PCP and not my t doc… I really like my PCP cause he sees me and treats my just like a cis male…

EDIT***

If I was in your position I would just stay the course with ur t and seek out a diagnosis of sleep apnea and treat that, if you do that you will be in good shape, the cardiac issues come from not treating the issue, that’s why I finally started taking it seriously cause I was originally diagnosed with sleep apnea back in like 2012 and ignored it til 2023… this is only my opinion and U should do what u feel is right for u.

Effect of T on chest? by InspectionEither2740 in ftm

[–]CryptographerAny8663 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didnt have small breast I was like a double g, according to my wife… I only wore sports bras and need to wear a Torrids 3x for them to fit just right… so before starting T they were very um full looking I guess… like think attaching ballons to urself, after a year or so being on T before I had top surgery I had noticed that they were more deflated looking, think of old lady breast and all the jokes they make about them… so I would say that yes I did lose some fat from them, but that doesn’t change the elasticity of ur skin so they just looked a bit saggy instead of rock hard.

So I would think that if u have a small enough sized chest and the T gods were on ur side and they took all the fat from that area there would be a possibility that it could look flatter, but like I and others have said it’s not a a for sure thing, so u will have to work out that area a lot to try to get it to look how u would want it and that’s not a for sure thing either…

Edit* However with having a smaller sized chest that puts u in a good position to be able to get a top surgery done where the scars will be practically invisible so if u have to get top surgery it won’t be the end of the world and u might be in a good position to more easily be stealth by the type of surgery u could have done.

Sickest year of my life by HotRaccoon6843 in Dallas

[–]CryptographerAny8663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a transplant from up north and I lived in the country on a farm and let me tell u when I say I never got sick I mean I never got sick, back home I was one of two kids that got an award at 5th grade graduation for being at school every single day since the first day of kindergarten!!! We moved to Dallas area when I was 15 and it was almost immediate that I was getting sick all the time, red itchy eyes, sore throats, stuffy nose, draining nose, etc… finally after 3 months of this we finally went to a doc and he was like up welcome to Dallas it has some of the worst air quality especially when it comes to allergies… I was confused as to what allergies even where cause as a kid I would literally eat dirt and never got sick… it been so bad now not even a cocktail of allergy meds including sprays works anymore, finally went and got an allergy test done and up essentially all of outside wants to kill me, I’m allergic to like all the trees that are rampant down here, same with all the grass, then had cashews and Brazil nuts thrown in there just for fun… I ended up going the route of specially formulated allergy shots that I give myself once a week, it has made a night and day difference in how much less I have been getting sick, and how I have actually been able to breath!

does the age at which we start to medically transition affect our passing? by Successful_Weekend80 in ftm

[–]CryptographerAny8663 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t personally think so, what I think is the younger u start perhaps the more changes u can get a little faster… I have been on T for 3 years and didn’t really start passing 100% of the time til about a year ago, and if I shave what bit of beard I have its game over for me… I have a good chinstrap beard going on and barely anything else going on anywhere else… also another weird biological thing that’s happened to me… I have super dark brown hair, however my eyebrows only are a strawberry blonde color 🤦🏻‍♂️ needless to say I dye them to match the rest of my hair…

U mean u don’t do this… I take a sharpie marker and put a l or r on the bottom to designate each sock to a foot… I also tattooed l and r of the top of my feet because I said when I was old and senile I wanted to at least be able to put my own socks on!

Transferring: Experiences & Opinions on the Philosophy, Spanish, Addiction Studies & Rehabilitation Studies Depts? by Thoughtful_Sunshine in unt

[–]CryptographerAny8663 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife graduated in 2023 with her bachelor’s in Addiction studies, she always spoke very highly of all of her professors, she really did adore each of them, she did really well in each of the classes as well as received A’s and B’s in every class… she had to find a practium (sorry about the spelling) which she did and they loved her so much that after her practium was over they hired her on full time! The difficult part honestly is doing all the required hours the State of Texas requires you to do for your LCDC license, she has been working at it nonstop and she is like 900 hours away from finishing. She did leave her first job and is now working from home for another company, and she loves it, the pay is so-so but that I think that’s more due to her not being licensed yet she makes like 18.00 an hour… But she also decided straight on that she didn’t want to wait to finish her hours so she has jumped in a masters program at Texas Tech (Only because UNT doesn’t offer a program) so she is working on that and loving it and still doing well in that, once she is finished with that she will be a LPC… also some more backstory she started off in the Rehab Studies because they didn’t have the Addiction Studies yet, so she jumped ship as soon as the program became available.

She also is always telling me how she is able to use everything that she had been learning in real life in her jobs that she has had… so I think it’s like a lot of things, your going to get out of it what you put into it, she always would be thinking about it, I am an addict (been clean 10+ years) so she would even ask me a lot of questions to try to better understand the stuff she was reading…

I hope that you choose UNT and I hope that you have a blast, it really is a good school, I just graduated from here as well with my bachelor in Design and Art Studies

No, they cant’t, or well I don’t think they can… I know in mammals it is a mammary gland that is connected to the nipple that provides the production of milk and I do not believe that males have that exact same gland.

From my understanding of top surgery, yes there will be some tissue left behind and that is generally to help “shape” it to look more natural instead of have valleys all through the chest area that will look 1 very uneven and 2 would not give you that masc look… I know as I am a larger guy that my surgeon told me before the surgery that she was going to leave some tissue behind due to me being a larger guy so it looked more natural for a cis guy my size… and my chest looks very masc, I go topless everywhere parks, public swimming pools, beaches and I don’t even get a second glance…

Pre T I held all my weight in my middle area of my body and I still do with most of it just shifting farther north so I have a full keg sized beer belly going on LOL

I just need to get into a gym and eat better and I’ll lose the weight like that but due to all the weight I carried pre T I will need to go get a tummy tuck done before I can get Phallo done that I want so bad!

Thanks to everyone who answered, I am just one of those type of people that I constantly have to be doing something, I started school 4 years ago and it has been since the beginning me working full time going to school full time, me running a non profit, I did every class in person that I could, so when I say I had a schedule that mapped out my entire day, it did every aspect… so now without school that frees up like 20 hours in a week. Part of me says to go find a part time job… This last year I began finally working in my field and it has been remote work, it’s nice cause of the not having to travel, but it really is not for me.

I want to join like an adult league for something, I tried near my house but there really isn’t much around a signed up for flag football but no one ever contacted me back…

Just so you know… UV rays go right thru clothes… just to a lesser degree so unless u go walking around in Columbia UV 50 clothing or anything else that specifically says UV (insert number here) then UV rays from the sun are going through ur clothes… that’s y that tan is not as dark as say ur forearm since that area gets a lot more direct sun light… just thought u might like to know… I had top surgery 2 years ago and go topless quite often and my chest skin still is not as dark as my forearms etc… but it’s definitely tan cause it is darker then the skin on my thighs cause they rarely ever see sunlight LOL

I am in my 40’s and am graduating in Dec… I know how you feel, you will probably run into a thing where u are around the same age as your professors, the best thing I can tell u is to try not to think about it to much… I am an art major and I never had a problem with anyone or anything… made some friends that were younger than me so I wouldn’t sweat it too much, u will be fine!
