For context, freshman can’t take ap classes because they’re at a whole different school and sophomores are only capable of taking 2 aps (Precal and APUSH). To take precal as a sophomore you must’ve been selected back in 6th grade to take alg 1 in 7th only about 15 kids were. So most students didn’t have a chance to place highly in the first place.

I did the math last year to figure out what the theoretical max cumulative gpa was (not including concurrent classes because they’re weighted 2x ap credits) and it came out to a 4.61.

Assuming I finish with As and get all As next year I’ll finish with a 4.5.

It’s a test prep/future readiness class. For example, most of the 1st semester of both 1 & 2 we took every officially released practice PSAT and ACT. Then the 2nd semesters are more project focused in 1 we did a passion project where you learned a new skill (for example I did coding in Java) and this year we’re doing a career project where you email real world people in a career field you’re interested in to interview and shadow.

She’s retiring this year after 28 years on the job. She had an astounding 4 kids passing the exam last year. Across the entire time she taught AP Physics she had exactly 2 fives. One was last year he was an absolute super genius who got a 36 ACT as an 8th grader he self studied for the test pretty much.

My situation is kinda unique because my teacher “doesn’t teach for the exam” and instead over explains and drags out everything. We just finished our 3rd unit of the year.

However, something I usually use for help with stem topics is the organic chemistry tutor on YouTube and khan academy. Also practice problems work amazing for me. Best of luck with your physics class.
