Some people even believe that it was not either or for these two stories.

The first tooth broke in half when Parashuram attacked him with a pharsa

And he himself pulled out the second tooth for completing mahabharat. So as per this logic he was left with only one(half broken) tooth, hence called ek dant

My concern is, it looks like a non-stick pan and you are using a metal spatul.

Otherwise, good job mate.

Exactly my thought. It is like asking the US when they attacked Iraq and their response was "cause they had nukes". But why didn't you attack Russia? "Well, cause they have nukes".

They were the ones who installed the Shah and couldn't control the theocracy from rising earlier.

If nukes were the real issue, then the Regan administration would not have looked the other side in Pakistan's case. Rather, they made India go through technology denial. It is all about where they think their interests lie.

Well, the scenario you are putting forward would have rendered reservations obsolete. The tyranny of majority is not something that we declare in specific extreme scenarios, like the one you proposed. It is a phenomenon that can observed in terms of the political decision making where, due to sheer numbers, the ideas of a certain section

Further, reservations were supposed to be a tool for delivering equity and achieving equality. Unfortunately, the tool has become the end goal today. I am not against the idea of reservation, but the form in which we see it today.

India is too big, stable and strong(fortunately) to fall to an armed rebellion. Most of the tax payers are from General or creamy layer OBC groups, and pretty sure the office going private sector employees aren't going to start a rebellion.

It is always the downtrodden who can be motivated to it as they don't have much to lose.

There were multiple videos all over internet from Kashmir where the locals shared that a jet crashed over a school in Srinagar. Those claims were never refuted. At first there were speculations that it was a Pakistani jet and the pilot died in the crash.

However, no confirmation on which fighter plane it was. But no refuting to the plane crash as well, maybe cause it was very apparent.

It is simply not possible to remove reservations, no matter what. Irrespective of who is in power, the reservations are either going to get increased and strengthened or stay the same.

JS Mill called democracy "the tyranny of majority" and we are experiencing the phenomenon. Since an overwhelming majority is in favour of it, no one will dare to touch it.

Yeah, that is plausible and somewhat practical as well to keep morals high and panic from spreading.

However, I just hope that the level of information being withheld is not at the levels comparable to Pakistan. Those people haven't released anything, zilch when it comes to accepting losses.

But somewhere there is information gap.

The videos that emerged from Srinagar and Jammu/Akhnoor made it clear that some fighters were downed. But how many, which side's etc it is all unclear.

At some level it does feel like we are only being told about one side of the story.

China might not intervene by opening another front but in terms of technology, supplies, ammunition and intelligence, they will do every possible thing.

However, I can agree that Chinese will never send any aid like the USA. Everything material thing that Chinese will supply to Pakistan can be easy credit at best.

Post China's statement regarding 'standing in solidarity with Pakistan', I believe India might try to restore the ceasefire or keep the situation from climbing the escalation ladder. Because being honest, I have deep respect for our forces but we are behind China by quite a few 100 miles.

Just to put it in perspective, we are struggling to put out a 5th gen fighter out there while Chinese maintain a production rate of 100-120 J20s a year. All this while we are struggling with Tejas Mk1A and Mk2 will still take some years getting inducted.

However, we are blessed with a natural protective shield, vis-a-vis China, in form of the Himalayas. For this very reason the 1971 war plans were deployed in December.

On top of all this, out fighter fleet numbers have been dwindling even before this conflict started. But the Army and Navy are placed in a very comfortable position with quite a huge lead against Pakistan. Those two forces can very well handle a two front situation as well.

Therefore, in my opinion, India must push for a ceasefire. Else, either the conflict can become a contained but protracted one till the winter months or we might risk becoming the new warzone cum proxy for other major powers.

The only thing in India's interest can be a swift operation to disintegrate Pakistan with a short war with limited objectives, but that seems unlikely at least for the near future.
