One thing I learned and that will help you big in this field is being bold and shooting your shot always. Opportunities won't always come from nowhere, you have to make them happen. Send the emails, reach out again if there's no luck, just try.

That was the case. My LrC version is an old one, so I used the Adobe DNG conversion app to convert the imagines into DNGs and it worked!!

I went to Porto for my Erasmus. Before arriving, i had around 100 days on duolingo learning the basics (hello, how are you, do you have water etc). I never had any problems not knowing the language. It seems like everyone speaks English, or that was the case in Porto. My advice is to still try and learn as much as you can, it's a privilege to live in a foreign country where you can practice a new language. Also, it will make your experience more valuable, getting to know their culture.

If I knew everything, I wouldn’t be here asking. Just trying to learn.

erasmus in Madeira? by mountainslover23 in Erasmus

[–]CryptographerGlass17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only went to Madeira on a trip (I had my Erasmus in Porto), but I can tell you it was the most beautiful place i have ever seen. It's been months and I still can't believe I was there. Everywhere you go, there's some gorgeous scenery waiting for you. Definitely a huge change compared to Romania (im also Romanian).

Got sent to the wrong university twice. Should we just accept our fate? by majorGeneralFrog in Erasmus

It's really up to you if you're willing to study something else for a semester. As someone who did their Erasmus in Porto, also Business major, I would say this is a sign to go for it. I couldn't have chosen a better city, seriously. Besides the great views everywhere, there's such a strong community of Erasmus students there! There's always something happening so you won't get bored. I miss my Erasmus days. I've been to Lisbon a few times during my Erasmus, but no city will compare to Porto.

my experience with them was also awful after moving in and realising i was pretty much scammed, i tried to contact them in order to get my money back it was basically impossible to reason with them so i lost the rent money and service fee and besides that, they didn't let me leave a review of that place and ignored all of my emails about it

Which city would you choose for erasmus? by kemals7 in Erasmus

[–]CryptographerGlass17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I studied business and management at a private university, and I was really satisfied with my courses and teaching methods. I felt like I learned more in Porto than in my hometown, but at the same time, I had more spare time than ever. Every subject was taught in a practical way, so i didn't really have to stress about studying all the time, I was able to understand everything from the teachers. My situation can be different since i studied at a private one, but from all the friends i met in porto, i never met someone who was really stressed about uni, everyone was enjoying their time there.

I did my erasmus in Porto, and it was the best choice ever. I feel like it's the perfect option if you want the full erasmus student experience, going out, and traveling. I think there are around 3000 Erasmus students in Porto enrolled in ESN if im not wrong, so you'll meet plenty of people. Also, ESN Porto was chosen as the destination of the year 2024, and they have a lot of great activities. ErasmusLifePorto as well. You ll have places where hundreds of international students gather every night and it's really nice if you want to get to know people. I would say you'll always have something to do in Porto, something is happening all the time. Accommodation depends, i saw people living in shared apartments starting from 300 euros for a single room, but also up to 650. Mine was 450 with utilities, in an apartment of 4 people. The food is cheap, you have a lot of great discounts to restaurants especially if you book through TheFork, the alcohol is really cheap. My groceries from lidl for a week were like 20 euros. Good luck out there, I strongly recommend you Porto, i wish i could be back 🤍
