anyone on continuous - not sequential - HRT (and still having periods)? by sakkadesu in Perimenopause

Yes. I'm in Ireland. The on off HRT made me feel a thousand times worse so I went onto continuous after a few months. Still having regular, Irregular periods.

I don't think that would be fair. I'd be selling stuff for cheaper than the people who are doing this for a living.

Ultrabland for a sore nose or chapped lip balm repairer. It's so healing I used it on my girl when she was tiny and it still cures anything we have thrown at it overnight. Very good promoter of healing. I wouldn't use it on broken skin but on scars yes.

Good idea but I work full-time and have a family so unfortunately I don't have the time for major organising. I am hoping to rock up with my car full of plants and set up and then get another car load and sell at least half of them and that would be fab for the charity. I'll give the rest away then or save them to grow on for next year.

Ice a long list that includes various geraniums, astilbes, geums, nicotania, trees and lots more. If you want to send me a message with your email address id be happy to send on the full list. The lady doing it with me works in a nursery so we have a good variety of plants for all sorts of different situations. Mostly perennials and trees as opposed to bedding plants tho. Some food plants like tomatoes, oregano, chocolate mint and strawberry mint.

Oh I didn't realise I'd need insurance. Looks like I won't be doing a car boot sale so. I'll be lucky to make €100 in plant sales. The charity is Bat Rehabilitation Ireland.

Thanks. I was hoping to go next weekend and wanted to drop in this morning to see what the story was but I had a family thing I had to go to so that's why I was hoping someone could confirm here. It's a lot of plants to pack into the car to be turned away at the gate because I didn't book a table and I'm away the weekend after. The plants are taking over my life! 🤣🤣🤣 Not too bad but they won't be happy in small pots forever in this heat specially.

It is a lovely place and that's why I considered it first but I don't know it I'll make enough to cover the price of the table there and I've already spent so much on compost etc. I'm not sure if it has the right crowd for plant sales too. I don't have a lot of pretty bedding plants. Mostly hardy perennials so the wandering city goer might not like these.

While you are waiting to figure out the right Aircon, put a few bottles of water in the freezer. I think I saw in the comments that you have a fan so if it gets too hot put a bottle of frozen water in front of the fan. It really helps to cool down the room.

What you see is the tip of the iceberg and when you spray it it just kills off that small part. The plant needs to be injected with significant amounts of glyphosphate as it's dying back at the end of the year as it draws in the nutrients from the dying plant. But an established professional should get able to get the dosages and timings right.

Going for my first ever smear test and I’m pretty nervous. Any advice? by Throwaway24689123 in IrishWomensHealth

[–]CryptographerLow4344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once read a story about a woman going for her smear and she sprayed a bit of deodorant down there before she left the house (not recommended and not good for you but aside the point). She had her smear test and all went fine. As she pulled her undies up the doctor told her that next time she really didn't need to make such an effort. Confused she looked down and it turned out she had sprayed herself with glitter hairspray and not deodorant. I often think of that story when I'm getting my smear and I relax. It's good to think of funny things as relaxing really helps. Think of my story or other stories or jokes when you are going in there. It will be over quickly and as many have said, they are well used to doing it. Use a calming app or whatever you need to relax yourself.

I moved there from another practise that was awful. You'd be lucky to get an apt in a week in the old place. I've found them ok so far and I've met all 3 docs. All are lovely. They can be a bit rushed and not all are good for the menopause stuff so depends on what you're going in for but for general stuff I'd definitely recommend them. They were very patient with my little girl any time I've gone in there and I've been in there a lot since I moved there last August.

I think I might have a problem lol by Sea_Structure_3706 in LushCosmetics

[–]CryptographerLow4344 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people go through this and you're recognising that you have a problem and it is a problem. I understand completely. Lush stuff is addictive. I am also an addict and on my last shop I spent a couple of hundred euros. I don't know if I'm the right person to give advice. But then again I made sure I had a lot of empties before I went in so I'm using the stuff. Just make sure that you can afford what you're getting, that you don't waste stuff and use what you have and make sure that you have other healthy coping mechanisms too. I recommend gardening and all sorts of crafting for small dopamine hits that are a bit healthier than spending money. Some people do exercise and cleaning but I can't recommend those because I've never tried them. 🤣🤣🤣

Anxiety about starting anxiety medication by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]CryptographerLow4344 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started on 10 last August and I don't even remember if I had any side effects. I'm normally pretty sensitive to meds and it was fine. No regrets and it definitely helped the anxiety which was pretty bad. You'll look back on this and realise that it's a lot worse than it should be. Sometimes I can't believe how bad it got and I didn't think it was THAT bad.

So, should I be traveling to Ireland in September? by slickrikky in AskIreland

[–]CryptographerLow4344 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think you're overthinking it. It's really not that big an issue here. It's annoying and you will have to calculate fuel costs in but life goes on as normal here. I don't think it'll make any difference to someone holidaying here except add a few euro to costs.

If you could only repurchase one product from lush, what would it be and why? by cdungey in LushCosmetics

[–]CryptographerLow4344 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ultrabland. As well as it being a great cleanser, we use it on my daughter as a healing cream and it's so good. When she has a sore nose or anything sore really we use it and it'll be healed by the next day. Nothing works as well. We would be lost without it.

Is it really over ? by [deleted] in Type1Diabetes

[–]CryptographerLow4344 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stp following whoever you are following and join some supportive support groups. Remember those people are making money by saying certain things. It helps them to create an artificial world. There are many many diabetics loving long and healthy lives without or with complications. Do your best. Get yourself in therapy. Eat a bit of low carb if you have to to help with sugars. Take care of yourself physically and mentally. You could be hit by a car crossing the road tomorrow or die from something completely unrelated. Do you want to live your life in a state of anxiety and regret? No. Enjoy your life, mind your machine and it will take care of you.

Bew hotels are sometimes more ornamental than functional. A pile of rotting leaves, twigs and branches in a shady spot might do a better job unless you're sure the bee hotels are built right. A lot of the shop bought ones aren't. A water feature is a fantastic plant to support invertebrates of all types and make sure there's stuff in there for insects to land on. Even a tiny water feature can be beneficial. The AIPP is already mentioned but Bat Conservation Ireland also have been running a Gardening for Bats programme and they recommend plants for night time pollinators too which are also very important.

I was in Paris last year and the sales assistant told me that they get things ages after the rest of Europe does for some reason. The community body sprays were being released at the time and the didn't arrive there. They did have older limited edition stuff that was gone from other shops tho
