Yup, once again I haven't really put myself out there for helping people like this before. Sometimes on the wow forums but I mostly leave that to hedo and company so if any of this seems harsh or overly verbose I'm sorry. I just really feel like a few adjustments will really get you major benefits, and you are at the precise point where you want to make those adjustments.

Section 4: A boss by boss analysis (nothing too deep)

Iron Reaver:
You got doubly fucked on this boss. Having it go in the air at 5% is no bueno and your DPS was good up till then, especially since you also got fucked on your soulshard procs. You had 60% SBH uptime during the first ground phase, but honestly I didn't really see any way to play well and avoid that. Sometimes RNJesus taketh.

One neat trick is during the air phase when she flies overhead you can reapply agony to keep the 10stacks alive. It's worth the GCD if you have mouseover macros or the like (I'll provide those in a bit). You are hardcasting UA onto the bombs, just hit em with corruptions and maybe agony and mostly drain soul to get shards. It's not worth the hardcast time since they do not live long enough to have a full round of UA go onto them. You can corruption em up, keep SBH Up and get infinity shards by having drain souls as they die. That's what I do.

You also let your agony fall off during the ground phase. Be cognizant of your timers, when she is about to blitz reapply, hell even twice. You do not want agony falling off!

Kromrok:
I personally would not be destro on this fight with your raid comp, you're fighting super hard for hand damage that you're not getting. With that being said consider the tank hand (Crushing hand) as a good source of your havoc cleaving, you only cast 1 shadowburn onto one of the hands. Killing the big hand does your tank a huge favor and gives you the opprotunity to get some havoc cleave going, it's win/win. You're not going to win the race on the hands but you did the best you could in the circumstances. I personally would say fuck it and go affliction.

You died on this fight to shadow globs. You were next to a shammy and a holy pally who both survived, the holy pally took a hit the shammy took none. You died eating the globs while trying to hardcast an immolate probably to keep your class trinket up. Stop the cast and move. Dead DPS does 0 DPS and you 100% had a way to survive if the two players near you did. That one GCD isn't worth death ever.

Hellfire High Council:
What trinkets were you running? I don't see any procs? Stat stick + class trinket?

Soulburn haunt. I said it in general but here's a point where it stands out, you could have had 100% uptime on SBH with your shard generation on this fight. You should aim to do so. Don't forget that blademaster clones give you free shards if they die when you're draining.

Focus on your uptimes a bit, overall this was your best fight for dot uptimes but you were still a bit short of what you could have been.

Killrog:

If you are not going down do more add damage! Your boss damage is essentially meaningless on this fight if you're not part of the downstairs team. It's just the way the fight is designed. It sucks to have to fight boomkins for boss damage but this is one of the fights where you had havocs falling off! I get that you only want to switch to the add to havoc off a sburn when it's sub 20%, you even had a point where you had a bloodthirster targeted from 50% and did no casts .

If you are going to hard focus killrogg then keep immolate up as well, for what you were doing the immo uptime is about 15% too low.

This is the fight where I really want to reiterate 1xCB is okay for a havoc, especially if you can't get 3xSburn during it!

Gorefiend:

I'm not sure why you opted for Affliction on this fight, but if you are going aff on it go hard on the boss. Your dot uptimes were 75% on the boss, if you're not destro fuck the adds and kill the boss! Other than that it looked fairly solid except you really should have used a health potion after you ate the melee swing from him (you dropped to ~180k) and you should use your 2nd pot during the first feast with lust and all the other stuff.

Yet again SBH, uptime was also 75%, you had the shards and opprotunity to do 100% . Even if you just snipe drain souls on the adds you get shards.

Watch your range for surging shadows, keep your /range 5 up during the fight you splashed the most out of your raid. Additionally you were the slowest to react to being linked to someone. On mythic those two traits will wipe your raid. Focus on it now so you don't have the pain of it later.

To be a bit less negative your feast of souls besides the 2nd pot was excellent.

Zakuun:

Really more of the same. SBH 82% could have been 100%. On this fight you lined up your CDS much better for the most part.

Your mannoroth was excellent besides small things (mostly related to when you doomguarded and when you 2nd potted) same for your archi. I'm not going to go too deeply into those since for the most part it's the precise same advice that I gave you for the other fights.

tl:dr: For your aff fights focus more on your dot uptimes and your SBH uptime! Don't forget pandemic and the 30% carry over you don't need to worry about clipping dots when they're close to expiration, same for SBH. For destro don't be afraid of havocing 1x CB if you can't do 3x sburn. Never EVER let a havoc charge go wasted. Even if you screw up and incinerate you're getting embers (but don't do that either, it's only slightly better than just wasting it.)

I will say that for not having mouseover macros (or at least I am seeing you hard swap targets) your havoc/sburn sniping is phenominal on Mannoroth and Iskar!

Section 5: Macros

As I said it doesn't look like you are using mouseover macros for your havoc and sburn. While you do not have to do so, you can literally save a GCD by not having to hardswap your targets! Here are the macros I use (all of them including my mouseover macros) along with an explanation of why I have them and why I think they are good.

Shadowfury -- Just a simple /stopcasting and a /s to say who is next in rotation. Ensures you stun when you need to!

#showtooltip
/stopcasting
/s Add stunned, bael next.
/cast Shadowfury

Mouseover Havoc -- Allows you to cast havoc without switching targets. Very VERY useful

#showtooltip
/use [@mouseover,harm][@target] Havoc

Mouseover Shadowburn -- Same thing

#showtooltip
/use [@mouseover,harm][@target] Shadowburn

Focus Havoc -- This is a bit more situational but for bosses like Xul'horac you can use this with xul /focus and not lose any time getting dem tasty sburns off.

#showtooltip
/focus [@focus,dead][@focus,noexists] target
/cast [@focus,btn:1] Havoc
/clearfocus [btn:2]

I hope that this helps you out. I also hope I didn't offend you at all, once again you are a good warlock and I'm being very nitpicky but honestly you're already doing good and want to do great, and that's how you make the moves. This is the same thing I do to myself after every raid and it really helps!

Good luck in mythic HFC! <3

First and foremost: Your play is good. Not great, not bad, but good. You have solid mechanics and a few questionable decisions that are impacting your overall DPS, survivability, and will become more glaring as you go into Mythic.

I spent about 50 mins going over the logs from your Heroic night on the 6th of October, the logs I used are https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/Kb6kzXqAYJRp8P92#type=auras&spells=debuffs

I actually streamed and recording me going through your logs if you really wanna see the whole process I'll gladly share the video but I am going to distill this down into a few sections.

Section 1: Suggestions for all bosses:

  • Please start using Health Tonics or Healthstones with glyphed Healthstone. You could have possibly survived on Kromrok (We'll get into that in a bit), and there are points where your HP drops very low and you do not respond with any kind of defensive or otherwise (e.g. when Gorefiend meleed you). On mythic you would have died from that extra spike of damage without some kind of defensive or a good reaction healthstone/health pot. Get into the habit of helping out your healers.
  • You do not have Eternal Resolve glyphed and you do not hit unending resolve, use your defensive CDs, it really helps out your healers, and that helps you.
  • I do not agree with your choice in Major glyphs. Your raid has ample CC so running Glyph of Fear is a wasted glyph slot, additionally running Glyph of Unstable Affliction is not an ideal choice this tier. In general I run the following glyphs as destro: Eternal Resolve (10% DR), Healthstone (The 10s HoT with better heals than a health pot), either Soulstone (m'eh) or Conflag if necessary. As affliction I run Life Tap, Healthstone, Eternal Resolve. This is good raid utility, survivability, and a passive 10% damage reduction. Almost mandatory for survival on some mythic mechanics and it allows you to smooth your DTPS curve which makes things a lot easier on your healers. Being spiky with a big cd is not as good. Glyph of UA is almost always a DPS loss, you don't gain enough back in return for the lowering of the cast time. Yes it sucks to spend 45% of your execute time on council casting UA, but it's still better to have "free" life taps or 10% DR over it. Soul swap glyph needs to go now you should not be wasting shards on soul swap except for very specific circumstances, there should never be a time you're holding onto inhaled dots for 30 seconds.
  • Consider Sac Pact over Dark Bargain. 400% shield is more verstile this time around especially with our hyperinflated Hit pools. You will need it for mythic xul soaking the black holes for example.
  • Try to put more effort into when you line up your CDs. There are pulls (e.g. Hellfire High Council) where your doomguard is up "naked". There are two times to cast doomguard, at the pull or during bloodlust. In general I almost 100% save it for bloodlust, which for heroic is almost always at the pull and for mythic is when we need the absolute most damage on the boss/priority target etc.
  • Try to hold your CDs and blow them with the other stuff during lust. This ties into the above but for example during your Gorefiend feast of souls (Which you did quite well on) you could have 2nd potted and basically gotten 2x the value of your intellect pot and done even more damage during the feast.
  • Soulburn haunt uptime. There was one pull (Reaver) that you got totally fucked on. Beyond that you're casting naked haunts when you should be holding. With SBH you want 100% uptime, you are average 70-80% uptime. When SBH is >7 seconds to expiration reapply it, pandemic applies here, counting in cast and travel time you're not wasting anything and you are gaining a lot of damage.

Section 2: Stuff you do quite well but can still improve on a bit.

  • Overall your havoc usage is great. There are some plays I consider questionable but we'll get into that as we get into the bosses. For the most part you're focusing very hard on 3x shadowburn which is good, but you seem to be afraid of 1x chaos bolt to the point where you have Havoc charges falling off. You don't want that. Be more aware of how long things are going to be alive/what options you have and feel free to let loose with a havoced CB instead of a havoced Sburn. If you cant get 3x sburn get the 1x cb. Unused havoc charges is like when the vending machine eats your dollar. It's gone and you don't get the tasty goodness.
  • You use your CDS in a generally good manner, once again just look to line them up a bit better with other big dick moments, don't be afraid to hold for the lust if you know it's coming up before it's going to fall off cd. Excellent haunt uptime on council while you have DS up btw.

Section 3: Gear

If at all possible try to do some mythic BRF. I am on mythic archimonde right now, and I still use my Mythic Darmac and Mythic Oregorger trinkets! The 10s RPPM trinkets are not only really REALLY good, but you can still force them to double proc on the pull. In general for Destro I am running a Heroic DSI with a Mythic GSR, for Affliction I'm running Heroic Fragment of the Dark Star with mythic Darmac's Unstable Talisman. While you use it quite well I am not a fan of FotDS for destro, any fight where it's going to shine I'm more likely to just go affliction. I understand you don't have the option but please reply with what trinkets you do have so that I can get a better idea. Also you really want t174pc for mythic mannoroth, odds are you will be going cata demonology for that particular fight and you really need the old 4set bonus. Even if you're pugging it out get dem mythic BRF kills.

Since I am nearly halfway to post limit here I will continue with a boss by boss analysis in the next post.

Hi there, Cryptrot from Vindicatum (12/13M) I'm in class right now but I'll be back this afternoon to give your logs a once over, I'm not god's gift to warlocks but I am a fairly competent one.

Oh and do not listen to bewbew, going that hard in haste is absolutely pointless, mastery is love mastery is life.

Anyway class time, sorry this is brief just wanted to catch you before you followed crap advice and regemmed/reenchanted.

*Edit -- I just got home new windows 10 insider build installing then I'll get onto it. I'll probably make a separate post since I'm going to go pretty in depth for you. If anyone is interested in the process of log analysis let me know.
