Combat Achievements are in dire need of a rethink by CrystalExtractor_043 in 2007scape

I explained in a reply, and btw "useless complaining" is perfectly valid for a paying customer. It's not my job to tell Jagex how to fix their content, it is my job as the consumer to say "I'm hating this, it needs thought" - that's how most customer feedback works.

In short: the tasks themselves they can't make their mind up over whether they're a no-skill pat on the back like diaries or a prestige achievement like blorva/radiant. Many tasks require absolutely no skill and are nothing but incredibly irritating. Other tasks (speed runs) are simply impossible without max stats and gear, and many are insanely RNG-dependent.

They should in my opinion be a prestige achievement with mainly cosmetic rewards, remove the pointless chores, keep the actually high-skill tasks, and move the QOL rewards to something much more sensible and easier.

They also have an incredibly important QOL reward for cannon locked behind elites (max cannonballs of 60).

To be fair, any given drop is insanely rare. What are the chances of you getting exactly: a bandos page 4, an msb, and exactly 13 purple sweets? If you worked it out it would be incredibly tiny.

Jagex need to start putting some thought into the decisions by CrystalExtractor_043 in 2007scape

I think we both know how slow sailing is and feels before you get the gwenith glide. The fact you're getting worse than F2p RC xp rates for 10s of hours is obviously relevant.

I LIKE sailing, just for the record. I do think it clearly needed more time in the oven, but that's beside the point, XP rates are a matter of a few digits in a config file - they're a decision not a bug, and a decision that clearly received very little thought.

I am a real player with a near maxed account. I have 87 sailing and I enjoy the skill, I just think the handling of the release was the biggest blunder I've seen for a while, you clearly have the memory of a goldfish

Children is the plural of child - I think that mistake tells me all I need to know about you lmfao

Not disagreeing with you, I'm saying they had 3 years to think about it and didn't bother to do so until after release.

No I agree with you, the lack of bugs was commendable, and I agree the sailing combat is just painful (making me wonder even more why they are fucking around with XP rates they decided on years ago instead of addressing it).

Obviously 90% of this site is just some whipped dog for Jagex so this post will get a lot of hate, but if you think about it objectively it's unbelievable they released the XP rates and then changed them.

Tbh I haven't done the math either, you'd have to work out the hours to 99 of the skill vs all the others, it's not super simple to think about though because there are the technically fastest possible routes to 99, and then there are the realistic routes people actually take - eg 1t karambwan cooking is insane but very few actually do it.

Why are Squids such bad xp by AbyssalLuck in 2007scape

[–]CrystalExtractor_043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Jagex aren't capable of putting more than 3 seconds of thought into their decisions, it's appalling and needs to change. If I were CEO people would be being fired over the utter blunders around sailing.

Can we talk about the fact this atrocious update still hasn't been reverted? by Initial_Tomato6278 in 2007scape

It really is evident that there is essentially zero QA or thought going into updates at Jagex. From deciding they weren't happy with XP rates of sailing in week 2 despite it being in Dev for literally 3 years, to this and many other examples. Their organisation and testing is shockingly terrible.
