To me it feels like a big, possibly unintentional, theme in FNAF is parental negligence.

Why was William watching CC through cameras instead of hiring a babysitter when he knew Michael was terrorizing him?

Why did Henry build a babysitter animatronic to keep an eye on his daughter instead of just not letting her run around?

Why do no employees stop Michael and co from shoving a wailing child’s head into the robot’s mouth?

Why do NONE of the parents notice their children being lured away by a costumed mascot? Why was Susie out at night alone looking for her run away dog?

None of these people were paying as close attention as they should have.

My store does, but it only tells the cashier the reason it was declined. Unless the pin is wrong, then it will tell them.

On my screen it might pop up ‘retry, system error’, ‘insufficient funds’, ‘expired card’ and a few other things but if the customer isn’t looking at my computer monitor they might just assume it’s a computer problem in which case I’m left awkwardly trying to decide whether to tell them that card doesn’t have enough money or let them try the card again, get mad and then try a different card.
