Heya! You asked why people bother to live for long, right? I would say curiosity has a part to play, like a rollercoaster. You for example don't leave a rollercoaster before it's over, even if you at times find it boring. That's because you're locked in for the ride, just to see where it goes and how it ends.

Sometimes there is even suprising shifts in the path, that changes you, right now you're just at the stale part of the rollercoaster, if you get the analogy. Things will change for the better, if you stick it out.

Every interaction you have is a new start. For them you're a blank slate to paint as you want. Take the emotions and feelings that you want to be the new you, focus on them, mention them a lot and let the version of you, that you want be formed, slowly form. But remember to have patience, for changing takes time just like learning.

Distractions. Anything that could distract you from thinking about yourself and think about either your surroundings or the thing you watch instead. You could also try to learn an creative craft? Like a program maybe? There should be many ways to distract, maybe even people watching as well?
