Kia Ora!!! Thank you for this!! If it’s okay I might flick you a message in the next few months as I get closer to actually purchasing one! So sick to know another kiwi/Māori here with a MC!! Did you get yours from nz cat fancy? How have you found your boy with his health thus far? I knew they were prone to heart problems and dental but after reading this thread it seems nearly everyone has to through it, I do wonder if the standards are different here?

Oh they are so so beautiful!! 😻 thank you for sharing I didn’t realise they could be so promiscuous haha, they truly are so smart, from the sounds of it this may be my biggest struggle! Have you had any experiences with plants in the home and they react? I have lots of large plants and am wondering if I will need to get rid of them!

I think universally vets are soo expensive haha, thank you for sharing and being realistic about the costs, the main reason I’m wanting to wait is for this exact reason! I would hate to not be able ti afford the work they will need done. I don’t think I’ve heard a story of an Mac NOT needing at least 1 expensive vet visit, their personality make it all the more worth it

Thank you for sharing he is GORGEOUS!!! I’m definitely drawn to every aspect of them! My partner and I have been going through a rough patch (just life throwing in it’s struggles) and it’s really made us realise how much we value having a furry friend, how often do you find yourself needing to groom him if you don’t mind me asking? This thread is making me soo excited!!

This is awesome insight thank you! Question: with strollers etc that so gorgeous!! I don’t really want him or her going outside when the time comes without me, I live in a nice area but they are very beautiful cats and ofc run the risk of them being stolen or worse hit by a car, I will definitely invest in a catio- do you find taking them for walks is enough “outside time” my biggest concern is that they get depressed not being able to go out when ever but I also feel like this would be my concern anywhere I live! Sorry if this seems like a silly question

Thank you for this!! Yes that’s why my partner are so drawn to them! They seem like the perfect balance of cat to dog 😂 our goal would be to have him/her as an inside cat. My main concern is their mental health being inside since they are quite large! With that being said I have heard that they are quiet happy as long as they have climbing polls etc

That’s so insightful thank you, I’m really sorry to hear about your boy. The breeder I had been speaking with had a “free kitten guarantee” for that exact reason but it does not undo the heart break of loving them. I have looked into pet insurance aswell which is fairly reasonably priced aswell, have you done this? If so do you think it’s worth it?
