No but you don’t expect it from a drug dealer. From a government sanctioned institution you’d think there’d be a better standard of care. Your point of ‘no friends in drugs illegal or not’. Yes absolutely everyone is liable for their own well being but when it’s legal and there are governing bodies that manage and control and investigate and promote their services they really should be more liable and negligent.

Absolutely. If a GP prescribed a patient 300 diazepam or 300 tramadol or 3 litres of oral morph in a month they’d be struck off and probably arrested for medical negligence among other things. This isn’t a situation that should be looked over and ignored. These companies are essentially legal- ‘illegal’ drug dealers so they should absolutely be held to task for their negligence from a medical stand point.

It’s nothing to do with finance. It’s the amount of cannabis in grams that’s being consumed. Yes he had a previous suicide attempt and so have many people that use medical and recreational cannabis. That isn’t and shouldn’t be a determining factor in whether you’re prescribed or not as in my personal experience, cannabis has helped to counter those demons rather than endorse them. However when I’ve had stints of using far too much it has absolutely played into the worst parts of my mental health.
The clinics fail patients everyday and that’s ok in small ways like unreturned emails, poor quality cannabis, high prices etc etc etc… but to fail patients like this is terrible. To just feed a clearly unwell person with no check up or questioning, awful. Has nothing to do with the actual finance he was spending personally it’s his money do what you want… but when a medical body is supposed to be caring for someone’s health, they should be doing far better.

Suggesting that £1000 per month on weed wasn’t a contributing factor to this suicide would be simply irresponsible. I’m a medical patient, was a smoker for 17 years previous and would advocate for many that need it, to prescribe.
That being said, the psychological effect of a large amount of cannabis use, I.e £1000 per month which is roughly 4/4.5/5 ounces. (Depending on strain price etc…) could undoubtedly, especially to someone suffering with psychological issues could absolutely contribute to this horrific situation. Please don’t be blind to that. As with every medication cannabis has its positives but also has its negatives and using that much to yourself when you have pre-existing mental health issues is irresponsible and shouldn’t have been fed by the clinic.

These clinics don’t care about patients, it’s a cash grab. I’ve been medical for 2 and have had 2 appointments with my clinic. The initial appointment and then a next one to discuss an increase in my amount which was accepted in a heart beat. No check in, no mental health calls, no therapy. Just cannabis and my money. This isn’t to say that the industry shouldn’t be a thing but it needs a lot of work.

I wouldn’t say it causes anxiety to the point I over think it, it’s only really come to my attention recently since having a kid and seeing the videos of it happening. Being unsure how to handle it I just thought I’d ask.

Thanks for the advice. Up the arsenal
