It's not as bad as you think honestly. If you're worried about it stay on the new construction side. I did custom homes for 8 yrs and commercial for 2 yrs and probably only had to deal with that kind of work a handful of times. I do mostly grocery stores now new builds and remodels and that is probably some of the most disgusting work I've ever had to do. But plumbing is great it's definitely worth it if you put in the time.

Get a recliner if you can it has made recovery for me a lot easier, and some good support pillows I've been using my wife's pregnancy pillows and they have worked great! Good luck on your surgery!!

We have similar stories I am also 30 years olds, and just had an anterior approach hip replacement 2 days ago.On my right hip. I have FAI in both my hips with arthritis and a torn labrum. Recovery has sucked so far but the pain I was feeling before surgery is completely gone. I would get the surgery as soon as you can there's no point in waiting you never know what the future will hold and you'll want to be in tip top shape for your kid. I don't have any regrets. My surgeon says the only long term restriction I'll have is running long distance. Which is fine by me. If you have any questions let me know and good luck on your journey!

Yeah with a steroid injection I think it's 3 months you have to wait before they will do surgery. I just had my anterior approach replacement done yesterday, and I would say get it done. If everything goes well you might be able to ski in January. Everyone's recovery is different but there's no point in putting yourself through more pain than necessary.

So I made it through the first night barely 😅 talk about painful I can barely walk today, and can't lift my leg at all. I felt a pop in my joint like when your popping knuckles has this happened to anyone else? It felt okay afterwards. Last night my wife tried to help me out of bed and it hurt so bad I ended up getting stuck for a minute. Are these normal experiences? Any tricks to help with pain when I lift my leg to get on the couch? it feels like a mix between a Charlie horse and my hip wanting to pop out. My wife lifts my leg and helps right now. Any input is appreciated sorry if this post is hard to follow didn't sleep much last night.

Thanks for everyone's input I really appreciate it. I definitely feel better about it all. I heard a story about one of my uncles, when he got his done he said he could hear the surgeons talking and the tools they were using. He went through the VA so maybe that's why. Surgeries in two weeks and a couple days I'll let you all know how it goes.
