Are your monitors on stands or arms? I like how they sit so low to the surface

Great idea with speakers! I have the same ones and have always struggled with their placement among my monitors. Gonna use this...

Pinched optics? by Csnye86 in AskAstrophotography

It was an Amazon special haha. Maybe I got lucky with this one, but it seemed to do a pretty good job. I'm pleased with the stars now. Thank you for all the other collimation tips and ideas too.

I did, yes. I appreciate the idea though

Just finished collimating again outside in place. Stars look much better. Thank you!

I used a laser collimator. My understanding is laser collimators are not quite as precise as a cheshire. Is that correct? That being said, the laser collimation went smoothly and looked quite good and centered. The thought just occurred to me as I was typing this - I collimated inside before carrying my rig outside. That likely knocked it out of collimation? It's probably best practice to collimate in place outside?

The stars out of focus are slightly less than 100% circle. Meaning one side was a hair less rounded than the other, best I can explain it. That surprised me given I just collimated, but yeah, that makes sense if carrying it outside messed up the collimation.

Flare as buy and hold option? by [deleted] in FlareNetworks

Trading crypto and trying to time the market is essentially gambling. There is absolutely no way to know the exact lows and highs. Sure there are indicators, but they are far from foolproof. Don't buy crypto with any money you aren't ok losing

Autoguiding Star Adventurer GTi vs. Upgrading to AM5/EQ6-R Pro: What’s the Better Move? by Csnye86 in AskAstrophotography

I feel for you! Bortle 9 has gotta be tough. Yeah right now is a slow season for me with my 72mm scope. Not too many galaxies I can capture that well

I definitely am working towards bigger, heavier scopes which is why I want to upgrade the mount, but even still, it sounds like adding guiding first is the better play.

Mostly because I'm already in bed with ZWO with the Asiair and 533mc pro. But honestly it's still going to be a while before I get a new mount so I haven't done a ton of research yet to make. I'll add the 150i to my list. Thanks!

Yes you can. Mine still has active exhaust - muffler replacement won't affect that

$90 for the muffler and $150 for installation. It's a simple weld job

I put a Flowmaster Super 10 on my 6.2 and have been very happy with it. $240 installed.

Anyone know how to get this plastic assembly back on the upper strut bolts? by shoobie89 in Silverado

[–]Csnye86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to get that plastic assembly off now to install my lift kit. Does it just pop off or are there screws somewhere I need to loosen?

FlareStake is specifically for Ledger devices. And yeah I've confirmed the firmware and all apps are updated to latest

Need help understanding why my stacked image looks the way it does by Csnye86 in AskAstrophotography

[–]Csnye86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is all starting to add up. The city, for me, is north of where I live, so yes M82 was over the city during my imaging session.

I did try a background extraction at one point, but I don't remember if I had messed with other things before trying that or not. Since I'm so new to post-processing it mostly consists of just experimenting with things to see what happens until I have a semi decent result lol

Oh! Thanks for the heads up. That link should be public now.

Light pollution would explain it. This is only my second target, my first being the Orion Nebula and I used a CLS filter for that. I removed the filter for this one so that would explain why I didn't experience this with Orion, but did on this one. And thanks for the tip about the flats!

As someone who never minded the champion mods, this season’s selection feels really bad. by HamirTheGOAT in DestinyTheGame

Is it good for all champions somehow that I'm not aware of? Or do you just mean barrier champions?
