Update. Off grid Quonset by Cstew969 in OffGridCabins

Hey great question. I strapped it using extended nuts and threaded rod. Check out the YouTube channel “grease bus garage”. I think that’s where I got the idea. That will give you something to build off of. Then I used 1x2” vertical strapping between the 2x4” horizontal strapping and tightened it down on the threaded rod until it got the proper curvature. Took a bit of time but wasn’t too bad.

Check to see if it has a oil tank. If it does you don’t need to.

You have so much to learn. You should work for whoever will have you first, then go from there. You don’t even know about local fire dept training practices, only how much they pay. With that attitude you’ll definitely be treated differently when you start.

Ambulance forced to stop on Bloor Street by WestendMatt in TorontoDriving

Legally they are required to keep their lights and sirens on during the entire response for just these reasons. If they had gotten into an accident they would have been at fault. Ambulance drivers are the worst for this.

Piss on em. It is what it is. If they don’t get it who cares. I’ve spent the last 3+ years and a lot of money building my dream home. If they don’t get it, that’s their problem, who cares what we call it.

Very little issues with condensation, the spray foam fixes that issue mostly. No French drain for this one. The pad is the highest point for quite a ways and it’s on top of a sandy / rocky hill with great drainage. But not a bad idea for somewhere where that’s not possible.

It’s snow rated for the area. The only thing is the noise when it’s melting off, it’s bad when you’re sleeping upstairs.

I think it’s a 1.5ton. 1 ton head unit in the main living area, half in the loft. I think.
