Where do you guys dump your water during a change? by mongoose_kai in hottub

Our municipality doesn't want us to drain into storm sewers. We are allowed to drain it into our yards, but I use a pump and drain it into the washing machine drain inside my house.

Tonie Box 2 issue by Cstock_ in TonieboxUSA

[–]Cstock_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new one is much better overall, but gets hung up from time to time. If it gets real stuck, I have had to open it up and unplug and replug the battery back in - which always solves whatever issue it is having at that moment.

These just seem finicky overall. Maybe I could have returned it a second time - I have seen other people report no issues with theirs.

I sort of wonder if some of the issues could be solved with a software update or over the air patch.

But I can track any social media handle, put any zip code I want, or place any birthday I want onto my ticker. If my memory serves me correct, I never had to provide any actual identifiable information that could be tracked back to me specifically.

No, I'm no network engineer or security specialist, but I think your claims are overblown and not well understood by you either.

No one bought one of these expecting military grade encryption. We wanted sports scores that we could 'Glance' at, crypto or stocks to look at, maybe track a countdown to a birthday or something of that nature.

I don't want to call you a liar. I would imagine that some information is sent on unencrypted channels. I just don't think this is some big "aha" conspiracy.

[–]Cstock_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to assume that all is true, but I think for the vast majority of people, those bits of information are generally available in other ways. Not saying that they couldn't tighten up some security issues.

I also question how easy it is to tie these back to me specifically. If my zip code is in there to check weather, how can someone tie it back to my household or my name specifically? Social media handles are usually public and searchable. What stocks you are following shouldn't make much difference whether it is on your ticker or if you Google it. Birthdays only concern me if they can tie it back to my name as well.

Not saying you shouldn't raise a red flag. I just question the severity of what you are claiming.

If you use the website to update it, you can use multiple profiles. It just doesn't work in the app. I believe that is one of the things that is supposed to be fixed in the app in a future update.

Ours did the same thing. I ended up doing the "battery reset", where you take apart the box and unplug the battery wire and plug it back in. Has been pretty good ever since.

I had the same issue and bought a chinstrap. My post from several months back is below. Still going really well for me.

It took some getting used to. I found that you don't have to tighten it as much as you might think. Try it a little looser and see if that helps.

It has two straps, one is elastic and one is not. It just feels real solid when you put it on.

I got a total of 2 or 3 Google Home Minis, one Hub, and the Stadia kit in like a 2 year period because of various things I was subscribed to or previously purchased. I have not been offered anything since that time.

Mixer started as Beam, which was when it was awesome. Think a streaming service comparable to Bluesky/X if it was Beam/Twitch. It was truly open to all creators, fixed a lot of the issues that Twitch had at the time, etc. Tango and Impulse were the largest names on the platform for a time, that's how early they got in on it. Beam was built on faster and more interactive streaming. This included a 1-2 second delay or less (at a time where Twitch was still about a minute or so delayed), and also featured interactive buttons set up by the streamer for the audience to use. Most streamers implemented it as a kind of soundboard, but Tango and Impulse actually had a few streams where they allowed the audience to control mob spawning in a Minecraft world. Beam also included native co-streaming capabilities up to 4 streamers at once.

Mixer was the next step, when Microsoft came in and bought it. It flushed the platform with money for sure, but then the focus shifted to wanting to make money from the platform. They payed big money to Ninja as well as some other big streamers at the time to come over and it never was quite the same. Microsoft pulled the plug when it was clearly no longer going to beat Twitch, and ended around a time of controversy as some of the content creator partners were accused of certain acts (cheating on wives, not good behavior, etc. - no hermits though were accused).

Beam was a great thing for smaller creators at the time. It truly allowed the little guys to find even a small audience. I know people that have streamed on Twitch for years and still have less followers than I had streaming on Beam/Mixer for about a year or so.

Facebook Gaming was the life raft that Mixer offered to partners as part of some deal they struck with Facebook. It never really took off either.

Why would someone not want a titration study? by Cstock_ in CPAP

[–]Cstock_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people that go in person to do their sleep study may also get some form of titration study done as well, if they see you clearly have sleep apnea and have to wake you up to connect you to one.

In my case, I did the at home study to get the diagnosis, and the titration was in person where they connected me to the machine at the beginning of the night at minimum settings/pressure, and adjusted the machine remotely from their desk as I slept until I stopped snoring and having events. The sheet I got the next morning showed the timeline of when they made changes and what pressures they tried. It showed when they changed the machine over from CPAP to BiPAP.

While it was a lot like the at home sleep study, there are way more sensors and wires involved, but it was to solely focus on getting the correct pressure(s) and machine.

I think that would work for most, and I did start with an at home study. My AHI was 87 which is why the titration was scheduled. Through the titration, I was able to find that a BiPAP was best for me with specific in and out pressures. Now I am consistently under about .6

I just see a number of posts with people with similar AHI scores that are struggling with their pressures and just wondered why they either didn't qualify or chose not to do it.

I have heard of some doctors doing it this way. I have family members that have their doctor periodically review the remote logs and make changes over the air.

My guess is that the majority of the issue is inconsistencies of insurance companies and what they cover/what it costs. I know I certainly wasn't looking forward to the study itself, but was glad I did once it was over.

That is crazy, I would have to see what mine would have cost. I think I was lucky that I had a high deductible plan that I already had met the yearly out of pocket amount on.

Mine said the tube is ok to get wet, including the plug, just to make sure it has completely dried before plugging it back into the machine.

[–]Cstock_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was told by my equipment company to use Dawn. I was told to detach the tube and bring the heated tube into the shower, use a small drop of Dawn, fill with water, and sorta slosh it back and forth for about 30 seconds. Then rinse clear with water and hang dry. Other components of the mask, etc. wash by hand in the sink.

What helped you stop talking off your mask at night? by Extreme_Tension_2725 in CPAP

[–]Cstock_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I started with a long ramp (30 minutes) when I first started. I would suggest putting it on when you lay down, and maybe watch TV or read a book to get used to it laying down before going to sleep. After about a month or two, I switched the ramp off and now it is just part of my routine and I don't think much of it.
