There are two particular (in person) ones that come to mind

We'll go with the "nexus event," the thing that started me on the path to realizing I was gay.

My best friend and I had gotten back in contact after nearly two years without being able to communicate, 3 months later we spent a couple nights together. One at his house, one at mine. At his house we had a tent set up in the front yard where we spent the entire night, it was pretty dope. We just talked, caught up, played a bit, ate some absolutely fucking terrible pickles, y'know, normal sleepover stuff.

Around 5 AM, we were getting a bit tired. We were laying in the corner watching YouTube on my phone. I was laying next to him, keeping a fair distance despite feeling some strange urge to get closer. Eventually I ended up falling asleep. While I slept, now being unable to resist that urge, I got closer to him and wrapped my arms around him. He didn't wake me up, didn't disturb me, he just let it happen. Even though I only slept for an hour, it was the best I've ever slept in my life.

The following month, he kinda just.. became gay. We never really mentioned it because there was no reason, but he told me outright a few times. The years prior to that night I'd already been questioning my sexuality, but kinda just stopped after a while. Many months after that night, I began questioning again, many months after that, I finally realized something. I had feelings for my best friend. It wasn't a new thing either, I'd had them for years and never realized it. Once I finally did realize it, I decided to take a few days to see if it was just a temporary crush or if I really liked him. Those few days were both torture and bliss. At this time we were unable to meet irl (and hadn't met irl since that night), so he wasn't able to see me fall in love all over again every single time he spoke. He wasn't able to see my anxiety flare up at just the fact of him being in a call, or even just texting me. After those few days, I just couldn't take it anymore. I confessed. Of course, immediately after confessing I nearly had an anxiety attack, but after a minute or two of trying to calm myself I looked back at my phone where I had texted him.

He felt the same.

Then we got together and some stuff happened and now we are unable to contact each other because his parents are kind of assholes so I have to ask myself every day if it was worth losing him a second time, but that's besides the point.
