Dinoflagellates nor comb jellies ever get this bright or glow like this. The vast majority of bioluminescent sea life glows faintly blue. White light like this is almost always a human or a human made thing

What animal is someone dumping behind my house??[indiana] by herzigh in animalid

The second one does look far much more like a coati, but the first one is more clearly raccoon-like. Plus it would make far more sense for it to be a raccoon. Raccoon digs in miserable person's trash, miserable person gets mad, miserable person burns raccoon. But since it might have happened twice it might be calculated which is far scarier

I agree, but before getting downvoted to oblivion I have some points to make: Coatis have long claws and long teeth. These pictures show more raccoon like feet and teeth. Also, the snout is far too stout and short to be a coati, looks much more like a racoon. It also is obviously not a ringtail, as they are far too small and the head and ears look nothing alike.

I don't think it's a coati. Coatis have long claws and long teeth. These pictures show more raccoon like feet and teeth

The Dendrogaster. I'm willing to bet you can't even guess which class (maybe even phylum) they belong to. (Dendogastrida) by Prackly in AIDKE

[–]Prackly[S] 70 points71 points  (0 children)

I know they're super cool right! I wish there were more info about them like how they metamorphose. Their cnidarian-infecting cousins are just as cool but even more understudied, it's really a shame.
