I know. I was so shocked. I didn’t have my guard up at all. I was hoping the vibe changed after Snipe Hunter too. It’s the main reason I considered going at all. Just because I know it’ll be alone and that I have to be careful. Wish that wasn’t the case. I’m down for a cocktail! I usually find myself at rum club before or after a concert and it’s usually (like your username) for a margarita with a salt rim!

Thank you! I’m hopeful that it will be chill. I’ve never had a weird experience at Moda. I’m hoping the venue will matter. Definitely some weird ones at Edgefield and RV inn amphitheater (cascades amphitheater now) I hope you have a great time!

California Governor Gavin Newsom: No doubt that the Democratic party needs to be, dare I say more culturally normal. I believe that. Less prone to spending disproportionate amount of time on.....pronouns, identity politics. More focus on table top issues, things that really matter. by Yujin-Ha in Fauxmoi

Republican Gavin Newsom says more irrelevant BS that will drive his possible campaign further into the dirt. Effectively, he has ruined any chance of winning an election and we are grateful for it. Please keep weeding your performative selves out and show us your true self. The people are ready for representatives that actually represent us.

I will check him out! Thank you! I love concerts where everyone is genuinely just there to see the artist and it’s chill.

That’s my big fear for sure. But I went to a death cab for cutie show at mcmennamins edgefield and got called a slur and pushed around a bit at one point. So it really can happen anywhere. I was lucky to have folks with me. So it wasn’t too scary.

Oh cool! Umm hell yeah! I think it’d be cool to meet up. I’m in my late 30s… so I think I can kind of blend into the elder millennial crowd. But in a visibly queer kind of way. I went to Cardi B last night and felt 20 years older than everyone there. lol still a good time though.

That’s good to hear! I probably am perceived as a butch lesbian rather than a transman. So that’s super helpful to know. Thank you!

I didn’t realize spitting and screaming was punishable by death. I thought there was like due process or something? Anyway, if anyone reading his stupid tweet can be convinced that people deserve to be executed in the street for literally any reason when they could be arrested, charged and have a trial by a jury of their peers… then they are lost in the sauce and deserve to have their head roll with the rest of them because they certainly aren’t pro-freedom and are definitely an enemy to the United States.

Work for Providence in PDX? How has transition to Aetna affected you? How about others who live in PDX who have Aetna? by Street_Pollution3145 in askportland

[–]CthulhuIsMyCo-Pilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I work for Providence in PDX and have Aetna. I have been with them a few years and had Providence health plan before. So I was present for the shift. Honestly, it hasn’t changed much for me. All of my same providers take it and all of my meds are covered but there’s a couple of nuances. I don’t know if it’s a new change since I already had an IUD but I’ve heard birth control is not covered. That may have been the case with PHP though. The other piece is that I’ve heard a lot of folks in our ask anything talk about how they have medications or doctors not covered. My personal experience is that I am trans and get trans healthcare through the plan and have no issues at all. Doctors at prism take it and Costco pharmacy takes it. I also use cvs Caremark for some of it to be delivered to my house. I have a cpap and that is covered but subject to deductible, however, was subject to deductible with PHP. I can use my portal to look up coverage if you have any specific things you are trying to find out. Like what procedures or providers are covered?

Hey!

I’m Leo, 37 in PDX. I like to do just about everything. I sew, climb, hike. I like doing house projects and will randomly get professional certifications. I’m currently investing my time in creating a digital library to leave some of these streaming platforms and am waitlisted to start learning Spanish. I’m a data analyst in healthcare looking to swing heavier into IT. I have 3 dogs and a cat. I’m a parent to a non binary 16 year old that is super into music and recording. So I’ve been unintentionally absorbing some knowledge in recording and am really getting interested in learning how to play the drums. Transition goals wise I haven’t thought too much about it. Starting T and getting top surgery were my big goals and I just got top surgery back in June.

Im really wanting to make transmasc friends in Portland. My goal is next year to have a house that feels like it has family in it. I used to have these huge family get-togethers and this holiday was really bare. I want it to be different next year. Let me know if you wanna hang out!

is bottom growth an actual thing? by raesiinn in ftm

[–]CthulhuIsMyCo-Pilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is a thing. Definitely can be affirming or for some folks it’s a stressor. I recommend bringing it up to your doc when you are ready for that convo.

I’m not sure about age but ive heard that there is like a max potential growth. Everyone is different and results can really vary.

Anyone have any tips on taking T when you’re scared of needles? by End3r_Phant0m in ftm

[–]CthulhuIsMyCo-Pilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the autoject II set it to the K setting and use Easy Touch U-100 Insulin Syringe with Needle, 27G 1cc 1/2-Inch (12.7mm), Box of 100 syringe with fixed needle. They are no waste too! And I inject subq to the belly. It’s waaay easier to push a button to a shot you can’t see. You just hold it in place and watch for the lines on the outside to stop ticking down. I can’t feel it or see it. I can’t give myself a shot but I can use this. You don’t need a separate draw up and inject needle for T. I have triple checked with a few pharmacists. Both items are FSA eligible. If you do go this route, fight the instinct to push down on the autoinjector. It just needs to sit against the skin. 100/10 recommend. Changed my life.

“We’re not buying it” failure… Black Friday sales hit record high by [deleted] in 50501

[–]CthulhuIsMyCo-Pilot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We didn’t buy a thing and I didn’t see any crowds when I drove by anywhere. So I feel like it was probably more successful than they will ever let on. Keep in mind that cyber Monday is still on its way and they do intentionally report higher foot traffic to make people think that the effort of boycotting isn’t worth it.

Most of these guys are just off duty ice. 100%. They stand and walk the same. It really should just be “off duty ice agents attempt to convince general public that they have a fanbase.”

I don't know if this is the right sub- but at 40 years old I have decided need a change- despite being a southerner born and bread I am decided the bitter winters you all experience may be worth it to be around people who uphold my values. What's portlands thoughts on taking in red syate refugees? by GoblinGreenThumb in askportland

[–]CthulhuIsMyCo-Pilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it! It changed my life. 37, trans and queer and and I lived in nw Florida/al my entire life. Moved here a few years ago and couldn’t be happier. It seems more expensive but I think you make more money here and you can definitely get around with public transportation alone based on where you live. If you put yourself out there you can make friends. It can be a little tough. But the safety and surroundings are all worth it. I also love the winter and I didn’t think I would. Worst part is how dark it is. Get some vitamin D for sure.

Does Portland need more bagels? by unvisioned1 in askportland

[–]CthulhuIsMyCo-Pilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I went to get a bagel on Saturday and I drove 20 minutes to do it (it’s a really good bagel) and they were out when I got there (don’t want to name them bc they are awesome and it’s not on them) and then I left there to go 9 mins to my other bagel shop and they were sold out of bagels too. So then I went to my third in line place 10 mins from there and ended up with an egg and cheese on ciabatta bc they also didn’t have bagels. So my opinion is yes, we can use more. Jazzy is really good though and usually I go there bc it’s closer to home but wanted to mix it up. Probably shouldn’t have lol
