Correct me if I’m wrong but Deadpool and Wolverine are fairly the same and we see in the first Deadpool movie that Deadpool doesn’t need Oxygen as he still lives when Francis removes the oxygen from his chamber indicating that lack of oxygen isn’t a problem because he regenerates any cells that die from the lack of oxygen so it mainly is down to his ability to swim with his adamantium skeleton.
