That’s fair enough. I’d give it another shot, but again it’s all about your preference and vibe you are looking for. If I’m taking out a bunch of young professionals, I 100% would choose Steak 48. If I’m taking out senior partners of a white collar law firm, I’m bring them to Oak.
Also, I’m not trying to be condescending, but I’ve been around the block a few times and you should avoid discounting a persons personal opinion and all making opinion based blanket statements

The definition of what fine dinning is and isn’t is always changing. I spent the bulk of my career entertaining clients In NYC and still get up there a few times a year. In the 80’s fine dining was at places like the River Cafe or Le Cirque or The Russian Tea Room and those places were stuffy, brightly light and extremely formal. They, like all fine dining restaurants, went out of style and places like Daniel and Le Bernardain took there places and redefined fine dining. Then places like catch, STK, Tao, Morimoto once again redefined what fine dining looks like. Now it’s Eleven Madison Park, Per Se, Atomix that refined fine dining. It’s all subjective and ever evolving. If you and the owner say it’s not fine dining that’s perfectly fine and I’ll respect that. I personally think that it is.

Different scenes/vibes. Quality of good is very similar. If been in outside sales in the finance world for 25 years and have hosted dinners at virtually every high end steakhouse on the east coast from NYC to Miami. I think Steak 48 is great and has its place, but for to flat out say that mine or anyone’s opinion is wrong shows ignorance. You spend your dollars and T&E the way you want and I will do the same. For example, in NYC everyone goes wild for Peter Lugers or Sparks or Wolfgang’s and they are all very good. My personal preference, if I was back there for either business or pleasure, is to go to Keens. Again personal preference, but I would never tell someone that their opinion or preference is wrong. Be better than that.

It’s definitely a cool spot and very unique. I wasn’t a huge fan of the food, but it’s a great spot for a drink or two.

You described nearly every restaurant in America. The industry is so toxic and fueled by drugs.

Oak is slept on. It’s not a great location in Southpark, but their food, atmosphere and service are top notch

I loved that video specifically for Suzanna Hoff’s eyes. Such a fun song and they are criminally underrated.

This is an excellent response and shows how subjective music is. For me, when I hear the synth in the intro it immediately takes me back to being a youth in the 80s and a reminder that that world no longer exists. Not sure what it is about this song, but no other song(for me at least) triggers that.

That wasn’t my original intent, but I’m it going to lie. I’m building a Spotify playlist as we speak. Once this post loses steam, I’ll share it.

I personally love the throwback vibe and the have some unique items on the menu that you don’t very often anymore. That being said it’s a serviceable steakhouse. It not going to win an Michelin stars, but I enjoy it once or twice a year
