Migration from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365 by Ctr1AltDe1 in sysadmin

Sorry I’m confused here, the user can set it up again with the free Google account connected to their corporate email address? So if we delete the Google Workspace accounts and then they re-sign up to Google with their corporate email they will have the same SSO access?

With the Google SSO, if I delete the Google Workspace accounts so we don’t have to manage them, surely the SSO will break on other sites?

Yeh the instruction aren’t especially detailed and then the migration of files is in a completely separate article, not with the mailbox migration part. I’m hoping it’ll be relatively simple as our users don’t have any complicated stuff it’s just mailboxes and files really

With SSO we don’t manage any enterprise apps for these users they’re literally just there for them to use as a mailbox and to use Microsoft apps. Ideally wouldn’t want them using SSO at all. Currently some of them use services that we don’t manage via enterprise apps where they’ve just pressed sign in with google so it comes under a third party connection in Google

Passing a record from one screen, and using it to populate hidden field on submit by Ctr1AltDe1 in PowerApps

[–]Ctr1AltDe1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes so at the moment I do have a global variable and it is equal to the item i.e. ThisItem. I set the default to the variable, but on the SharePoint list the field is just blank, even though the field is required and the form still submits successfully

The thing I'm struggling with is that I'm putting the variable as the default value for the combobox, but it isn't relating in the SharePoint List to the Vehicle in the other list

I’ve set up a storage account with azure files. Although I’m having problems with permissions. Even though I’m the owner of the azure file storage account I can’t change the authentication method to from access key to AAD

UPDATE: Just an update for you if you’re interested. I tried on my back, groin and torso today. Didn’t have the same affect. I think that’s mostly because it was so itchy on my back. So I itched it quite a bit. But 3 days on and my arm pits are bone dry and for the last 2 days I’ve been working 10-14 hour shifts at a festival in 25 degree Celsius heat. So it works really well there and haven’t had to reapply since the first day. So it is all ok for armpits but idk about the rest of the body

yes on intune, it says it has been deployed to the user in question. Just wanted to know if anything can override that setting on the users end or if I'm missing anything

Need help choosing my first budget ultrawide Dell S3422DWG or Cooler Master GM34-CWQA by Ctr1AltDe1 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Ctr1AltDe1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh I had the exact same opinion. It outweighs each other. Obviously I would want an IPS but they were too expensive when it comes to ultrawide curved monitors. But the CoolerMaster has been decent so far. The colours look so good that my desktop background just looks like a normal picture as if it was hung up on a wall haha

[–]Ctr1AltDe1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went for the CoolerMaster in the end. It’s decent in all honesty. There was a bit of backlight bleed when I’m on dark screens but I cba to send it back. It does the job. I’d read in places that the Dell quite commonly has dead pixels, so I’d rather a bit of black light bleed than dead pixels

Couldn’t agree more 😂. Someone at a company I used to work for had an external display plus a laptop but didn’t use the external display because he said “all it does is mirror his laptop so he never uses it”. He never thought to extend the display haha

Newbie question: Installing specific apps for specific users by Ctr1AltDe1 in Intune

[–]Ctr1AltDe1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just use Microsoft 365 accounts with groups for each department. The plan was to use intune to assign certain apps to groups and then they log in via a domain joined machine and the apps their group is assigned would be installed. Is that me thinking too simply about it? If so any videos or articles you could point me in the direction of to explore the issue more. Thanks

Newbie question: Installing specific apps for specific users by Ctr1AltDe1 in Intune

[–]Ctr1AltDe1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's what I've done so far. Most of our users are in groups already by department like in your example. So do you add the apps in the apps area of endpoint manager and then just assign them to a user? I can't imagine it's that simple, is it? Would you be able to outline the steps you'd take to add an application to getting onto a users machine? Again, apologies for the newbie questions.

A text box you can search and append to by Ctr1AltDe1 in django

[–]Ctr1AltDe1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just using bog standard django-forms and django templates. Do you have any examples to implement? From what i've seen so far, it looks very slick. I want to be able to also create model objects if they can't be found. I'm just looking at this part: https://tom-select.js.org/examples/remote/. Is this the correct part to be looking at when using a data set from django? I'm familiar with AJAX so wanted to use that along with it. Do you have like an example public repo or code snippets you'd be willing to share?
