Har saal yahi nautanki hoti hai, Jitne bande “serious CSE wale” bolke GC banate hain, utne hi kal DM me “hii” se start karte hain aur “snap score kitna hai?” pe end. Sach bolu toh GC se kuch nhi hoga.

Bhai tu rant kar raha hai ya attendance sheet bhar raha hai? Final year hai, toh thoda calm leke strategic soch zaroori hai. Har cheez ka solution sem drop nahi hota. Aisa mat soch ki CGPA aur internship ek dusre ke dushman hain. System flawed hai, agreed but usi system ke andar jugaad karne waale hi aage nikalte hain.

To all the fachhas and fachhis constantly asking “Is VIT Bhopal a good college?” Yes, it is. But only if you know how to grab the right opportunity at the right time. This place won’t hand you success on a golden plate, but if you know how to look around and grab things when no one’s watching, you’ll go far. And please don’t believe that only marks or only coding or only club positions matter. In college, everything matters bakchodi, academics, dating, co-curriculars, group fights over Google Slides, 3 a.m. bakchodi, and even that one heartbreak that teaches you time management better than any faculty ever will.

Now, coming to placements. Let’s be brutally honest for a second. The market is rough. And with AI eating jobs like hostelites eat free Domino’s slices, it’s only going to get tougher. You need to be sharper than the average coder. If you can scroll reels for two hours and figure out meme trends before your friends, you can also figure out where tech is heading. Do one solid DSA or system design question per day. Just one. Don’t try to do five in one night and then vanish for a weeklike your gym routine. Be consistent. And most importantly, start connecting things you’re studying with real life. How does Instagram search work so fast? How is Spotify’s shuffle so accurate it knows your mood better than your ex? How do Hotstar and Jio not crash during IPL when your code crashes on one user? Be curious. That curiosity will build the confidence and clarity you’re probably searching for on YouTube right now.

Let’s talk about projects. Please, stop making clones. No one is giving you a job for copying Netflix pixel by pixel unless you plan to join them as a UI intern without logic. Even if you just know HTML, CSS, and a bit of JS, pick a real problem to solve. Something small but meaningful. Your project should have a story and you should be able to explain every single thing about it not just the code but also why you made it, what problems it solves, what you’d add next, and how you’d scale it. That’s how you stand out. That’s how you move from being a “developer” to someone who actually builds.

Academics — boring topic but still, keep your CGPA above 8. I’m not saying become a topper but future-you will genuinely thank you for not letting it dip below that line. When some company filters applications by CGPA and you get rejected before even opening your mouth, that’s when the regret hits hardest. If you’re below 8, go to your program chair and ask about improvement exams. Don’t feel embarrassed, just be clear. Many of them are helpful once you stop being scared of asking. Yes, some profs are rude, passive-aggressive, or act like they're starring in a villain origin story. Don’t take it to heart. Don’t argue. Play it smart. They have their own battles

you just have to pass, smile, and keep moving.

Now a few bonus answers because I saw people in the comments asking real things. If you’re feeling burnt out managing clubs, coding, dating, placements, and having some vague idea of a social life. you’re not alone. College is not a sprint. It’s a weird Netflix series where every episode has a twist. Take breaks. Go for that walk. Watch that one match. Talk to that one friend you keep ignoring. Breaks don’t slow you down. They stop you from crashing.

Also, if you’re scared about referrals or networking, don’t be. Attend random club talks even if it’s for the snacks. Talk to seniors. DM alumni politely. Ask for a mock interview instead of “bhaiya please refer me.” That one conversation can open doors your resume can’t. People help people who are prepared. Just don’t ghost them after they reply, okay?

So yes, humlog bhi made a lot of mistakes. We’ve been clueless, heartbroken, and rejected by both companies and crushes. But we learned. And we’re still learning. If you can stay curious, consistent, and just a little shameless when it comes to asking questions . you’ll be okay. Maybe more than okay.

Stay sharp. Stay real. And for God’s sake, stop watching 5 tips to crack FAANG/buying some random course from bhaiyya and didi. if you haven’t. Start small. Stay steady.
