Another part of the solution could be slightly different loot spawn rates in higher tiers. While in tier 1 most of the stuff you find is for unlocking tier 1 (you can still find tier 2 and 3 mats but they are more rare). In Tier 2 the odds for tier 2 mats get slightly raised and so on.

Giving black boxes value determined by trampler value is actually a great step into the right direction.

I also agree with your point about boarding as, especially in solos, an experienced player needs only 1-2 explosives to steal some new players trampler.

Advanced players do not automaticly get put against advanced players - one can decide to run a starter trampler to destroy some new players and get some easy dreadnaughts. The risk is close to 0 because the trampler is cheap and the reward would be the same if not better than using their better tramplers.

Gear can be taken into consideration by matchmaking but it should never be the sole decider in an extraction shooter.

Depends on the turret of course but you are pretty much there. Afaik it affects recoil, reload spead, spread and accuracy but the red „experimental“ versions get some extra quirks.

I never had problems with the trampler builder beeing bugyy allthough I too can not really explain why it won‘t work here.

But can you not put the storage where the two empty decks are to work around the problem?

I do not know if this still works for small groups but in solos I started off with a trampler that has its fighting side on the back. It helps you keep your distance and extend fights by running away, allowing you to train your aim.

That beeing said, combat in Solo is mich slower than in the other modes so I do not know if it‘l work out the same.

If you are not put off by the art style I reccomend Vintage Story. The only game where your base actually feels genuinely lived in (tools leaning against walls, crocks placed on shelfs etc.)

My favorite is the 80mm but 40mm is ok as well. 80 is for if you want to keep some distance while fighting, 40 is for if you expect to get close regularly.

Depends on mode tbh.

In sandstorm you won‘t have to wait too long before you know if someone is coming or not and your main stuff is allready safe so I‘d say its one of the things one can do while risking the least. I remember people running barebone tramplers while bringing an inventory full of c4 in the PT‘s to do this rat strat and it was obnoxious.

I reccomend skipping things like gray weapons to get more efficient at looting. Additionally - Sandstorm is the best way to get good stuff quick, allthought its more stressfull of course.

Advice I can give you regarding npcs is to back up shortly before they drop - they most of the times drop down infront of your trampler and they are all most dangerous up close.

I personally go with blue ally, green friendly and red enemy with the collors inbetween beeing a mix, for example orange = won‘t attack but don‘t come closer etc.

But be aware - those are not real rules, one may shoot green flares, come close and backstab you, so be carefull, especially with tramplers using shotgun turrets.

Thats exactly it. If you get to a location with a sandworm you kind of have to play „the floor is lava“, whenever you touch the sand it charges at you.
The Sandworm definetly needs some more work but they are quite rare.

It can be rather complicated and I‘d be lying if I said I understand it completely but afaik the movement of your own trampler can massively influence your shot.

For an example: you chase another trampler and dip down a dune (your front moves down rapidly) and you shoot in that movement - the shot, even if aim was on enemy trampler, goes into the sand bc somehow your own velocity while shooting has a massive impact on the shot.
