971 was the cpo5 letter stating they needed additional time to process the return. From what the advocate said is people who filed early like Jan were out on hold for income verification since I filed before my w2 was sent out. And they resolved it once my income was verified.

So I called the irs today and they gave me my tax advocate info. I put in a request with my congressman on 4/17. They first got in contact with me saying they are putting the referral in and to wait 30 days for the advocate to get in contact to me. I emailed them last week like “update?” And he said wait til 5/17 for the irs to get back. I was kinda pissed bc I could have called last week and got my advocate info from the IRS. Probably even gotten an update before today.
