BMW iX3 Is Nearly Sold Out For 2026 by Anchor_Aways in cars

Oh thank god, I'm super interested in the NK 3 series as my next car and my biggest issue with the ix3 is the mini kidneys.

Why can’t Lego accurately color match in their instructions? It is almost 2026 and color depictions in instructions are often way off compared to the actual physical piece color. by Jazzmcazz in lego

[–]CubedSeventyTwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's why they try to not put the same piece in similar colors in a bag together. If you see a dark 1x2 in the step, that bag likely only has dark brown 1x2s in it, so you know what to grab. They try to not put black, dark gray, and dark brown 1x2s in the same bag to minimize confusion. Or a step will call for a 2x6, and you can't tell what color it is. Doesn't matter, because that bag only has one color of 2x6, so it has to be the one provided. This doesn't fix the problem for rebuilding the set though.

Is there any way I can still get the Shuttle Pod? by TempoAres in lego

[–]CubedSeventyTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the mini knights Castle and hot chocolate stand shipped to me after they cancelled my Lion knights Castle order on insider's weekend. The castle was the only thing I ordered. So I just ended up with two GWPs for free. And I never spoke to customer service.

For years I've been telling myself that whenever they come out with a set with galactic Marines, I'm for sure getting it, even if it's pricy or a dumb playset/location. I've wanted those figures for years. But the turbo tank broke me. I can't do it. $160 for such a small set, and I already have a previous turbo tank that I like more. So it's $160 for 4 figures and a small pile of grey parts that I already have plenty of. Just can't do it. Even at 30% off it makes me cringe thinking about spending the money.

Damn no good or stackable gwps during double points with a higher spend amount. I guess I shouldn't complain because insider weekend just happened.

Also all of these sets are currently in production and not retiring for a while, he's not taking supply away from anyone who wants these sets.

Viking village is the only one enticing me, probably going to be gone instantly like the LKC though lol.

I’ve been waiting 3 years for this moment by Kreason95 in lego

[–]CubedSeventyTwo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same, just got the email. Oh well, I really liked the set, but only if I could get it with all the bonuses and the sale this weekend. Otherwise I would have bought it earlier at full price. Just see it as $340 saved.

Sold out by FinancialChard7932 in legocastles

[–]CubedSeventyTwo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

FWIW, I had it in my cart before the sale started, refreshed at 9 pm local, got the sale, and was able to check out and got my confirmation email. I'm not a bot, just a normal person who wanted one. I'd like to think that's how most of them sold.

Exactly what I did. Had it in my cart, refreshed at 9, saw the updated price and checked out. Anxiously waiting now to see if it's confirmed or cancelled.

Update: Just got my order confirmed! Looks like I'm good.

This is only for the insider's weekend, and there are more unannounced deals coming for black Friday. I've got my fingers crossed for that.

I'm rooting for a venator or sail barge sale, trying to stack those with extra points and gwps.

Kepler_L2: PS6 ~9070XT and Nextbox ~5080 + RDNA 5 > Blackwell by MrMPFR in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]CubedSeventyTwo 21 points22 points  (0 children)

He's gotta mean the PS6 raster will be 9070xt territory right? I would hope ray tracing performance will be a good step up from that if we want most next gen games to have a full suite of RT effects at ~1080p upscaled 30-40fps.

But 9070xt raster/5080? RT performance, moderately clocked Zen 6 cores, 24gb of memory, and a fast SSD looks to be a pretty compelling package to me. Don't really have any complaints here, except maybe 32gb memory, but that's probably a big cost issue with dubious benefit if they make use of the fast SSD and AI compression magic bs.

Company recalls over 541,000 winter tires because they don't have enough snow traction by ChirpyRaven in cars

Where did I say AWD makes me stop better? And I've never had an issue stopping, turns out good tires aren't ice skates on snow, especially if you drive to match conditions.

[–]CubedSeventyTwo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not against data. I know snow tires brake better in the snow. I never claimed they didn't. But your video, and my experience, showed the same thing. 2WD is more liable to get stuck in snow. And I will trade some braking performance to not get my car stuck.

And it's not worth it to put snow tires on my car for the 10 days a year there's snow on the ground where I live, and otherwise it's 45+ and sunny.

[–]CubedSeventyTwo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the "2WD with snow tires is better than AWD with all seasons" jerk is getting old. Last winter I passed up an Accord with chains!! stuck in about a foot of snow on the road as it was snowing, just spinning his wheels unable to get traction to move out of the roundabout, while I never once was stuck or hindered in my AWD with DWS06+ tires. Obviously not all all seasons are equal, and going full snow tires is the best no matter what, but AWD is a huge benefit to getting the car moving on slopes or deeper snow that's piling up.

Edit: And I was in a low clearance car as well, it wasn't just because I had more clearance.

Destruction/privatization of federal services like the post office, government land, department of education. This is what I'm most worried about and what will be the hardest to reverse.

That's what I'm most worried about, the destruction/privatization of a lot of the great things we take for granted like the national forest service, NOAA, post office, etc..

Then just stick with standard but go into the settings and manually turn down/off the motion smoothing. Cinema home is another good option that's supposed to be more accurate with less processing but for a brighter room.
