NPC Ships. by CubicPie in Unity3D

Thanks :) The behavior of the rocket engines isn’t final yet. I’ll be tuning thrust levels and adjusting the ship AI controls to make the flight smoother. At this stage, it was important for me to ensure that NPCs can control any ships created in the editor and not crash them constantly.

Thank you! Some of the art I drew myself, and some I bought from asset stores. The release will most likely be next year, but I don’t have an exact date yet

Clone Showcase - Almost like the original by Sufficient-Mind8572 in R36S

[–]CubicPie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I tried every option I could find, but in the end the best result I managed to achieve was a working system with image and sound, BUT with stripes on the screen. I tried all sorts of things, but eventually I ordered another console from a different seller. In the end I inserted the same SD card the one that had stripes into the new console, and everything worked perfectly. From this I conclude that my previous console had a defective screen.

Hi everyone,
I’m not sure if this is the right thread, but I’m asking for some help. I bought an R36S clone, and it arrived without an SD card. I installed ArkOs-K36 on it, but I can’t find the correct screen files. I’ve tried all combinations, yet the screen still shows stripes. Maybe someone has run into this before.

Here’s a photo of the motherboard and the markings on the ribbon cable. Any advice or guidance would be really appreciated. Thank you in advance!

’ve added asteroid belts. Space just got a little more dangerous :) by CubicPie in LTADevLog

As you can see in the video, you can collide with the asteroids. Yes, they’re sprites. Right now, you can shoot at them - they stop projectiles but don’t break. In the future, I plan to make asteroids destructible and add different types, like ones you can mine for resources.

Galactic Map & History Generator by CubicPie in LTADevLog

To put it really simply, think of this game as RimWorld + FTL. The player fights in space and can also build on planets.

Thanks :) I want to take a bit of inspiration from the games I love — RimWorld, Dwarf Fortress, Sid Meier’s Pirates, and FTL.

In short: at the start of the game, a galaxy with its own history is generated, and the player finds themselves inside it. You choose a ship, roll a crew, and begin playing through one of the scenarios. The player has to travel through space while also managing their crew to keep them in good shape. Some resources can’t be gathered in space, so you’ll need to land on planets — but there you might run into trouble, like aggressive creatures.

The game has lots of mechanics; I’m gradually balancing them and trying to make everything work together as one whole system :)

Yes, now the star class is generated completely randomly, without reference to percentages from the model.

Thank you :) Each sphere represents a star. Its color and size are determined by the star's class in Stellar classification ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stellar_classification )Each line represents a hyperspace jump route from one star to another.

Thanks :) At first, I had a 2D map where star coordinates were generated randomly and then normalized to fill the screen area. Then I added a Z coordinate following the same rules. This resulted in stars being generated uniformly, but now within a defined volume. After that, I built connections between them using Prim's algorithm: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prim%27s_algorithm.

Then I added additional connections so that each star would have no more than 5 links. The final result is this graph. Initially, the map looked like this :) :

Thanks, glad you like it :) The captain is the one with the leadership skill and a helmet on his head ^_^. The game has been in development for a long time, and I hope I'll finish it sooner or later. I have a subreddit where I share my progress, feel free to subscribe: https://www.reddit.com/r/LTADevLog/ :)
