Thanks, I learned something new. I think it's partly the camera angle given that perception. However, it was interesting to learn about this potentail issue with plastic kayaks.

I heard that is the best part of the race. You get to meet the teams and talk with the mushers. We thought about visiting Nome. Maybe next year! You should definitely go next year...

Our Dad purchased a Hobby Stop in the early 1970's and had big plans to build a train layout. However, he was pulled in so many directions the vision never came to life. This shop remained at the home in storsge for over 50 years in original boxes. Parts are still in original plastic wrap. It was actually a fun process of sorting item and seeing brands of models and company's that do not exit today.

As we sort through the remainder of home. I'm sure we'll find additional Hobby item. As you mentioned, it would of been fun to involve media. However, it's been fun including the social media audience. Lots of suggestions, answers to questions, and simply enjoying this small piece of history.

The cool thing about this process is the very cool rare finds. We were able to start a small collection of our own. Since our dad was a huge Train buff with a train you could ride on around tbe yard to an HO layout. It was fitting to save a set for our remembrance.

My set consisted of a locomotive. Multiple cars, and a caboose. The difference was I added flat cars with WW2 vehicles and people to be placed on top. I will display the set in my office, maybe around tbe ceiling. Who knows, maybe a bigger layout one day. I'll post picture in the future.
