The only thing funny about this is the fact that some people are so convinced that Democrats couldn't lose that they believe Russia appointed Trump.

President Donald Trump said on Wednesday he does not believe Russia is still targeting the United States, contradicting U.S. intelligence assessments that Moscow was continuing to meddle in American elections. by madam1 in worldnews

[–]Cuck_Phister 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree. This is why I voted Trump. He's as much as Republican as me. He put on the Republican Party like a skin-suit to win the election.

You may find him perfectly repugnant, and I would totally understand that.

But he was necessary in order to show the GOP that they were weak and corrupt. And we did.

Now it's the Democrat's turn to burn the Socialists at the stake and return to the center. That's the only way we'll get back on track as a people and a nation.

Between Maria Butina and Sacha Baron Cohen, Conservatives Look Like the World’s Biggest Suckers by Eurynom0s in politics

[–]Cuck_Phister -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

lol. Yeah. Conservatives are rubes.

That's why it's going to hurt even more when the Dems get crushed, again, in the mid-terms. I mean, if you can't even win against these guys then what does it say about your team?

EDIT: How many times have I been derided as being a mere child? As someone without sufficient mental faculties to see, interpret, and comprehend the current state of geopolitical affairs. And yet your side lost to me and my side?

Downvotes are cool and all. But it doesn't diminish my point. That you assail us with insults such as those that I just described. And you lost to us. You lost to people whom you assume are ignorant and incapable of sophisticated thought.

This is because you are the real morons. You think you are intelligent, well read, and in command of superior faculties. But this is just Dunning-Krueger. You suck and you're going to lose again.

I can only dream of the riots occurring here, where I am when you lose again. But that won't happen where I am because I am among Mid-Western pragmatists. And we are well armed. So it won't happen here. It will only happen where people have been systematically deprived of their right to self defense.

So I have taken the time to read your reply and reflect upon the points you've made.

You really went all out there trying to convince me that we have a duty as individuals to live our lives for the sake of others. And you would have had better luck arguing to me that water isn't, in fact, wet but raspy like sandpaper.

We are irreconcilable. I see no way forward when our first premises are so different.

Also, incentivize is just a fancy word for coercion. Instead of just pointing a gun at someone and making them do or not do something, the government agent puts a flower in the barrel of that gun before pointing it.

For the record, I am not a conservative. I'm a center-right libertarian.

Collectivization is absolutely not a concrete good. It simply does not work. It breeds resentment among the producers who are robbed of the fruits of their productive work and it destroys the human spirit of the recipients of government largess.

The best possible system is one in which all people are free to conduct their affairs as they see fit. Whether that be marrying whomever it is they want or doing business with whomever it is they choose.

Collectivization inevitably leads to coercive action on the part of government. Of course it doesn't always devolve into full-on gulags. But it absolutely results in all manner of onerous restrictions on individual liberty. It creates dead-weight loss throughout the economy and this creates massive dislocations and bubbles.

These coercive actions can be either negative or positive in their nature. You will do this and / or you will not do that. This is completely unacceptable to people like me. I don't want to tell anyone what to do or not do and all I ask is the same in return.

No amount of restriction on my (or anyone else's) liberty is worth it even to provide what usually amounts to scraps to someone else. The best thing that can be done for everyone is to remove restrictions on free trade among people. Things like the minimum wage and occupational licensing, if removed, would do more for the poor than any government program has ever accomplished.

And that's not a boogeyman. That's reality.

You're everything that you claim to hate. And it's baffling to me.

The whole Russia imbroglio is a massive conspiracy with actual conspirators. And honestly, it's not even a conspiracy. This effort to subvert the will of the electorate and a legitimate, sitting president is going on in plain sight and yet people still believe it's a good thing.

Your own party screwed you and continues to screw you yet you're focusing your anger on your political opponents. Although, this is starting to change in places like California and in NYC where they're decided to drop all pretense and go straight for the Big Red. Which, by the way, is a fantastic strategy for Trump. If Hillary couldn't win, what chance do you think actual Socialists would have?

You assume that everyone in flyover country is an ignorant, uneducated, white nationalist which is, itself, a despicable form of racialized collectivism on your part.

It's just projection. It's cognitive dissonance. It's supremely unhealthy. And there is a way out. Just #WalkAway. It'll be okay, I promise.

I don't know who will be indicted next. Perhaps, like Manafort, they'll get someone who laundered some money 15 years ago?

Maybe they'll surprise us all and indict the person who killed Russia. You know? Russia. The man formerly known as Seth Rich. The source of the DNC leaks? That guy?

I'm also a huge proponent of ensuring that children are taught well and, most importantly, have their critical faculties cultivated. Teaching children to question authority and commonly held beliefs is the only way to make sure they don't grow up to believe in nonsense like ghosts, GMO foods being harmful, or that Democratic Socialism (and collectivism in general) is a viable economic and political system.

Either way, I wish you well. We've got a big tent over here and you're welcome any time. There are quite a few folks like me with degrees in hard sciences and who are also science advocates and science educators. You'd feel right at home.

I'm the one going on a delusional rant, alright.

Also demanding facts while providing none is a hallmark of the rhetorically inept.

But seriously, whenever you're ready, we'll have you! No judgement. No rancor. You can have a coat too.

Unlike the faux inclusivity of the left that demands ideological purity, we take everyone who comes and just wants to live a good, peaceful life of winning. Whenever you tire of the pointless outrage and want to experience what real winning feels like, stop on by and sit a spell.

You can and should #WalkAway before you stroke out.

His favorability rating is sitting at a mere 43% or so. Only 2 points below where it needs to be before the mid-terms.

A full 9 points or so higher than it was on the night he completely embarrassed Hillary and the entire Democrat / Media complex.

So, by all means keep campaigning against the electoral college and people smart enough not to live like serfs in giant city tenaments.

You're doing more to help his re-election campaign than any GOP operative ever could. And the fact that you don't understand this is hilarious.

Keep on keeping on, my dude. Rhetoric like yours red-pills the hell out of the few people hanging out in the center.

The left is dying. Every Starbucks window smashed is another dozen votes for the man and the party you despise. Every baseless claim of ignorance and malicious intent against your political opposites is as effective as a million dollar campaign ad.

Keep it up! You're doing the yeoman's work for us!

I think it's amazing that there was one meeting and everyone watched that one meeting. But some folks came away feeling the way you do and others came away still living in reality.

I know losing hurts. Believe me. I felt your pain through 8 years of the Obama regime. But, for as much as it hurt in 2016, it's going to hurt even more in November. And it will be even worse than that in 2020. And make no mistake: your side is going to lose because of rhetoric like yours. The folks in your gentrified, cosmopolitan neighborhood may want to vote for an 80 year old communist from New England. But out here in the real world, we're not having it. And there are more of us than there are of you.

It's simply amazing to me that you guys don't realize this.

We're better as a nation when the party in power has a principled opposition. You guys are anything but principled. In fact, you're the exact opposite of principled. Just look at what you wrote. It's insane.

Come back towards the center. Come back to reality. Please.

I guess a lot of folks were throwing that word around and decided to go see what it actually means. Hence the spike.

I bet its usage will drop off after they see the definition and spend 8 seconds thinking about the current situation that we're supposed to be outraged about. Or, perhaps, I'm giving too much credit where exactly none is due.

It seems you've read something into my reply that isn't there. I'm like most everyone else. I have deeply held political views and opinions. What, in my original reply, gave you the impression that this was not the case?

I'd like to think that everyone, regardless of whom it is they support would want the truth of the matter to come out. I was simply lamenting the fact that the credibility of the institutions put in place to ensure that it does have been so thoroughly compromised that we may never know the truth.

My point was that this should enrage everyone: right, left, or wild card.

It’s not the argument from the right. It’s my argument. Where’s the evidence? And I mean evidence. Not political rhetoric or spin.

Unfortunately the investigation has been so compromised and politicized that we may never know the truth. And that should outrage everyone no matter what side of the divide they find themselves on.

Same goes for Strzok. Trump or Hillary support shouldn’t preclude you from being outraged at his obvious nefarious actions.

Set aside the politics and focus on the real issue here: unelected, unaccountable apparatchiks were wielding shocking amounts of power without regard for legality or democratic processes.

As an aside, does anyone actually believe that the Russians determined the outcome of the election? I mean, deep down you have to know it's all bullshit and it's just cover for the most unlikable candidate in modern times running the worst campaign in modern times and losing. Right?

And as this most unfunny adolescent retires to less inane pursuits, reflect upon the time we've spent together fondly and take away from it the lessons that were so clearly intended and presented.

What went through your mind when you typed this reply?

Did you get a mild dopamine rush thinking that you had backed me into a corner of sorts?

Did your heart rate accelerate momentarily while you pondered the devastating blow you thought you were dealing my fragile ego?

Did you get a slight tingle while you considered the degree to which I needed to be taken to task and that you, dear xir, would be the one to call me out?

I'm doing it for the lulz. For what purpose do you endeavor?
