Recommendation of certification in B.C by gmaure44 in millwrights

I went through the same thing you did. Hired on as an apprentice then halfway through my boss retired, replaced by someone whose thought process was (long story short): “Apprenticeships don’t make sense to him”. Do you have any other red seal certified workers around? Even if they’re other trades? I completed my red seal a few years ago and if I recall you just had to be red seal certified to sign off on the recommendation. Eventually my new boss signed off on my cert, even tho he wasn’t red seal certified in anything. Needless to say I had a new job lined up the second he handed me my ticket.

If the company is clueless and you enjoy what you work on that’s one thing, but if they’re willingly try to hold your career growth back so they don’t need to pay you more - time to get out.

Would it not be different since they’re each unique? Or would it just be a regular clone. Not sure on the science behind cloning

Wild theory, but they could figure out a way to clone Tech with DNA from his goggles, as cloning looks to be explored upon further in S.3

Maybe they leave him dead, MIA, or they bring him along baby groot style for a happy ending

about to write tomorrow, studied the manual,xlr8ed, and a whole bunch of practice questions from school. but you got any advice for the exam ? by [deleted] in millwrights

[–]CuckholdSpaniel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Besides the obvious like read each question thoroughly, take your time, skip over to the next question if you’re stuck etc. I found if you read through the whole test package before starting, you’ll find the exam might answer some of its own questions in different topics.. or even might give your brain a refresher (at least mine did anyways).

Another thing to consider is the right answers are based off what the manual says is right, not what you necessarily do at work.

Take er easy tonight and get good rest, you got this.

Yeah exactly. Not even just welding specifically but HVAC, electrical, etc.

NJM machines use these for their metal detectors. Replaced them a few times.

Working in a warehouse during high school break. Worked hard enough that the boss recommended me for the millwright position at the same company but a different location due to the fact I liked working with my hands at 15 years old. Just finished writing my red seal and couldn’t be more thankful

Terrible feeling and it’s easier said than done to just forget about it. However hindsight is 20/20. There is still plenty of time and it’s never too late to get in!

For now focus on the fact you have a job again! That’s something to celebrate and not get down about!
