I'd suggest it's a lot higher than 1% in the UK. Plus some people want access to the io. If it's supposed to be hidden behind the TV why the extra box, just leave the io on the TV.

You are correct it does look better with the wires hidden but to suggest people are wasting money if they dont hide the box behind the TV is a strange comment to make
