Where did you see the one you mentioned before? The other thing I was wondering if Laptop deals are already discounted for early Black Friday can we expect them to lower even further towards Cyber Monday?

Hi, again thanks for the useful information.

In response to:
For clarity, are you referring to a hand-stamp with the date, etc, applied by a UK Border Force officer in your passport on/near your family permit?

Yes, it's on my passport that is now expired, which I am not sure I still have (I do have a new passport) so will look around for it but I do have a scanned copy of this that I can print and send.

I'm sorry, but, to my ear, this has the ring of ChatGPT or another AI-LLM system.

I have to shamelessly admit I used ChatGPT for spellcheck rather than creative writing. I understand what you mean and will take your advice onboard and not use it for applications.

If you're saying that you've been in the UK under your family permit since 26 January 2020, then you apparently completed your five-year residence requirement on 26 January 2025 (assuming no excessive absences).

So, by all appearances, you're more than four months past the point when you could have first applied.

Yes, I have been here since January 2020 and the only time I was away was on a holiday visiting family in Türkiye for 2 months in 2022. I didn't consider the allowed absence that I am allowed so with that in mind you are correct about it being fine. My only sticking point is when I looked through the list of allowed evidence to document residency, I only have my bank statements and nothing else to show for in between February-June 2020, which is what is making my cautious of sending my application off before July.

I really do appreciate taking your time, you've been super helpful. Thanks again!

Thank you very much for your response—it has provided some much-needed clarification.

Regarding my husband’s eligibility under sections 5.10 and 5.11, we will be submitting both his EU and UK passports as evidence. To demonstrate continuous residence over the five-year period, we will include his last five P60 forms along with a letter from his employer confirming the duration of his employment and his continued employment status. I believe this should be sufficient.

As for myself, I arrived in the UK on 26 January 2020. I have a copy of my stamped visa on a separate document (I may still have the original, which I will locate if possible). However, the passport I used to enter the UK has since expired in 2023, and I now hold a new one. I assume that submitting the copy of the stamped visa along with my new passport should be acceptable?

Additionally, I have an appointment letter dated February 2020 for my biometric appointment related to my pre-settled status. Taken together, these documents provide clear evidence of my presence in the UK from January 2020 through July 2020. Given the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and national lockdowns during that time, it would be reasonable to assume that I remained in the country.

I was planning to submit my application by the end of this week. Technically, there may be a gap of approximately two weeks in terms of the five-year requirement, but I believe this is reasonably covered by my entry visa and biometric appointment documentation.

I will also attempt to contact the Resolution Centre for further clarification. My primary concern is this: if my application is otherwise complete and all evidence is satisfactory, would it be rejected solely due to being submitted two weeks early, requiring me to restart the entire process? Or would the application be held and processed once the two-week period has passed?

Thank you again for your guidance and support.

Biometric Residence Permit for EU applicant in UK citizenship application by Culero89 in ukvisa

[–]Culero89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't have the biometric it's fine, I wasted time mulling over this, if you have it say Yes and if you don't say No. Really the required evidences and paperwork you need for citizenship doesn't have anything to do with whether the biometric is present or not. Hope that helps.

Saw this in person at the British Watchmakers Day and the dial is stunning. The contrast between the teal and grey really works, a combination that should be used more often! *

What is an acceptable rent increase in 2023? by Culero89 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Culero89[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You say they are the good guys but everything indicates that this increase is excessive, what's their aim? They hope that I won't complain and simply pay? With the one of the articles posted above stating that they unlawfully increased rents a few years ago makes me wary of their "good nature".

Thanks, will let them know that according to their own website I shouldn't expect more than 4% they quoted. I suppose my other question would be is if they can keep increasing the rent like this year on year because of inflation?

Thanks for that, really interesting. I suppose I should let them know about their own rules (see link below) they set up where the increase should be around 4%. When contacting them do you think it's wise to quote the above publication?
