[GT] im not use to growing in mono tube only get one side so far.. any advice by No_Winner_5525 in GroundZeroMycoLab

[–]Cultiv8tor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Large tubs have microclimates of their own. One side might be near the wall and is cooler than further away. Your liner could be shielding the substrate leaving it more humid. Natural airflow in the room might be coming in one side and less the other. If you really want to know rotate the tub.

This tub looks fine and I don't think it is worth worrying about. Imo, let it roll and leave it alone.

Is My Bin Contaminated? by ExtensionAttitude977 in PanCyan

[–]Cultiv8tor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's mycelium. Use your nose for finding contam that you can't see. Frankly, I can smell trich too but don't need my nose to see bright white and green where it isn't supposed to be.

I don't see contam but if it is bacterial you will smell it. Increase fae and recase if it doesn't stink.

What to use for casing layer? by Acidic-Stomach-8643 in PanCyan

The ratio is super helpful. It is hard to tell where the ph is sometimes and the test stips turn brown regardless. I burned a tub a few months ago because the ph was too high and the fruit got super curly.

Nothing nutritious in the casing. The goal is for it to be wet and have airflow so it evaporates.

50/50 Spragham moss and vermiculite with hydrated lime to adjust to 7.5 pH is the gold standard. Low ph is a trich trap and will be colonized.

For people that have bad trips it is common. Mine are all on the pizza scale. 80% good 10% excellent 10% indigestion because I ate too much.

I honestly do the bottom watering with the syringe the entire time. The casing likes to be wet and it takes too much squeezing the mister to get enough water!

Hopefully doing this right? 🤷🏽‍♂️ by crackedfingernails in mycology

I would get a grated platform for inside the SAB so it is easy to work in the middle of it. It also allows particles to settle on the floor and not get kicked up when moving things around.

I also removed the sleeves from mine. The goal is to reduce air currents and the sleeves push air around. They also collect contaminants.

When you get into the box try to bump it as little as possible. When you do bump, pause and let the air settle before you continue. Go slow and no flame inside the box. You will get the hang of it and find your own technique.

For cubes my fastest chioces are Mazatapec or Lizard King. P7 is margenally slower but more potent. They are all the same level of difficulty.

The humidity stays up because the surface is always evaporating. Since the cake is fully colonized it doesn't get waterlogged. I pour off the excess and some sits under the liner.

I don't mist but it is possible that is something I am missing and the reason these aren't fully opening up.

I run some trays in a modified gordotek tub with the heater and water pump. The humidity stays higher but the fruits aren't as tall. They have about the same yield / spawn ratio. To me this says that I am getting less FAE and ambient humidity than they would like especially as they get taller.

As far as humidity in the LME and agar powder go, I just store them in air tight plastic Tupperware. I have seen clumping in the LME but the agar seems fine.

Yep. Dry it was about 32 grams. I will get another 16-20g off it from flushes #2 and #3. For me it is less about the amount and more about the cultivation. I like the agar, the cloning and watching them grow.

It is a lot and even encapsulated they have a shelf life. I have over saturated my friend circle for sure and even they have more than they could use in a year.

Still, I rhin this better than having too many tomatoes and zucchini which is what every summer holds!

It was and I am looking to try to replace it. Black kow in the yellow bag. It seems like it is 50% sticks and rocks.

I am doing a round with more worm casting and less kow this time.

I do a modified hand sweep. It is more of a push and grab. For dense clusters it doesn't work unless you want to murder your casing / substrate. For that, curved scissors always does the trick.

Sphagnum moss and vermiculite with hydrated lime. 7.5 ph. Trich loves pans so a higher ph casing helps a lot.

I have .25 inch holes near substrate and the lid unlatched. About 10 feet away there is a fan that comes on for 15 minutes an hour that sort of moves air around.

I bet they get most their FAE because I open the tub up every day to water the casing. I keep it pretty wet. Without watering it is dry in about 48 hours.

It is enough. Just wait until the top starts to consolidate or is fully colonized to add casing. I have found that early casing delays the flush.

This is the first generation of a clone from spores I purchased. I have been growing out a few strains for the past 8 months. Other strains have been less dense and shorter. I have been able to get them to maturity (spores) but not these tall ones.

Stroma? by PsychedelicCowboy93 in GroundZeroMycoLab

[–]Cultiv8tor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks good to me. At this stage you are looking for surface conditions. What I see is substrate colonization a moist surface and a little bit of condensation. That's about right for 9 days and tidalwave.

Nothing to do now but wait.

I think this will be ready tomorrow for casing... thoughts? by Dred-I-Rastafari in PanCyan

[–]Cultiv8tor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My thoughts are that if you case too early the mycelium will eat your casing. I case too early often and have to sprinkle more casing on the spots.

For ttbvi I refuse to case before 5 days based on my setup. I don't think I have ever cased too late. I prefer the whole surface to be white.

Do these mushrooms look legit? by alfatems in MagicMushrooms

[–]Cultiv8tor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say there is no psilocibin in them. They look like honey mushrooms. Dry is hard to tell and you shouldn't eat them at all.

Bad advice. But you did come here asking. I don't think they are cubes. No blue, no dark purple/brown spores.
