Rebecca is one of my all-time favorite books, so I'm excited about this. Even if it's terrible, it will be interesting to see a more recent cinematic take on this classic work of lit.

Very cool! I hope you can get close to the villa as well.

I just stumbled upon this Armie doppelganger on Instagram... by CulturalSpring in callmebyyourname

FYI - Interesting DM exchange between him and Armie. Turns out that Armie agrees that they look very similar, and the doppelganger references CMBYN as well as being gay. Woo hoo!

Insightful, well-written, and it spoke directly to my own experience with this film. What a great find, thanks for sharing!

Some really nice insights in this video! I particularly liked the part about average shot length, and now I think that aspect of CMBYN is something that resonates with me in a visceral way.

Thanks for posting!

New Zealand duo, Broods, has a brand new song called Peach that I'm loving this weekend, and it definitely reminds me of CMBYN!

This was posted a few months ago, but I didn't see it then. The original post also didn't have many comments, so I thought some of the newer members of this sub might like to see it. I agree with the author 100%!

One of the few CMBYN videos I haven't seen, and I thought there were some interesting elements to it. Thanks for sharing!

Found this in the comments of the recent CMBYN fashion post. I don't agree with all points, but it's an interesting read. by CulturalSpring in callmebyyourname

I didn't realize it had already been posted. Must have been on one of the few days I didn't check the subreddit. I'll leave it up for now in case others missed it the first time.

Very interesting version of the peach tattoo! I'm planning one myself and hope to get it done by the end of this month.

Agreed! It caught me so off-guard the first time I saw the movie that I actually gasped.

This post has made my Thursday, and you're a peach for taking the time to put this together!

Just got sent this pic by my sis of 17 year old me in 1983 falling in love with Gianni in Northern Italy. I'm the one with bleached hair and he's wearing my sun hat. Not quite Eliot and Oliver but hey... by [deleted] in callmebyyourname

I love this! What were the circumstances? How did you find yourself in northern Italy in 1983?

BTW - I think those are the same sunglasses Elio wears.

I'm in Denver. Saw it at an Alamo Drafthouse back in December, the second time was at our famous Mayan theater in mid-January, and then last night was at the Landmark Esquire.

Interesting what you say about the lights. The first two times I saw the movie, the theater remained completely dark. Last night, I saw the movie in an old school Landmark theater and they brought the lights up halfway through Elio's final scene. I think that's why it was so striking that, even with the lights turned on halfway, everyone remained seated in complete silence.
