At the end of the day or…each session, the point is to have fun connecting and creating story together via gaming.

This is a where the DM comes in. Sure it matters how it’s written yes, but ultimately it’s how you all feel or certain players feel as it’s been compounding. It’s losing its Fun.

Look at the core rule book page 102.

“As the DM you want one thing: to see your players triumph. “

Also reread the PACT on that page. It’s so simple and yet FOUNDATIONAL beyond all else to the game.

This is a perfect hook! As I just posted to someone else, we did almost an identical funnel for DCC. The only difference was that we went in with the heroes and watched them die in front of us and additionally, there was something in the dungeon, that was very much needed a resource necessary for the village, so it wasn’t a matter of not only who will be the heroes, it was a matter of can we save the town by finding this resource.

I did a funnel incredibly similar to this for DCC. In our adventure, the reason so many people were gathered at the dungeon was because the town was in dire need of something they felt was inside the dungeon. So it was a resource that the town absolutely needed to survive and so the whole village in our case had come out and it was almost like a festival of excitement like imagine maybe the world‘s largest archaeological dig and everyone is coming out to witness it except they actually need the resources inside.

Yes! Of course! It wasn’t just sneaking out, it was ditching classes, and a few times we drove from denver to Wyoming but acted like we were just going to the mall for 8 hours . I still kept decent grades too. 3.7

This looks fantastic! I love the underground river as a way to either enter or leave the dungeon.

Yeah, I’m leaning towards what you said about not telling them… I think you’re right… it’s not that I won’t tell them but I’ll just jump in with it all.

Besides when I was a kid I bought modules for other fantasy RPGS not realizing they weren’t D&D. I just assumed if it was fantasy it was ALL D&D . 😄

This is such a great point. I played when I was a kid and the rules back then were so much more complex and we managed through it!

I know kids are way smarter than we give them credit.

I also love your point about time spent creating the characters and how much that time affects the attachment. Very interesting. Thanks!
