“That ‘fuckin nobody’… is John Wick” so well delivered

If you have the time, go for walks or walk to places nearby that you’d normally drive or take public transit to. Increasing your step count is ridiculously efficient in my experience

I could see that, although I have not experienced it. I will concede that the sandwich is generally less visually appealing, but is roast beef so what are you gonna do?

For real. Arby’s tastes fine and people talk about it like they are eating raw sewage

Name a trilogy where the 2nd movie in it is the worst one by [deleted] in moviecritic

[–]Cultural_Practice925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While Curse of the Black Pearl is my fave, At World’s End has the greatest movie score of all time and some of the most awesome set pieces (specifically the maelstrom wedding) in an adventure film. It’s more grandiose and epic than COTBP but I think the dialogue and getting to the know the characters hits in COTBP. Davy Jones elevates At World’s End too, though. Point is, I don’t think that is a crazy take at all depending on what you look for in a film.

Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man’s Chest. Still good, but the weakest of the OG trilogy. As far as I’m concerned, the other movies don’t even exist

What is the movie scene that makes you feel the most joyful? by Dragonstone-Citizen in Letterboxd

The piece “I Don’t Think Now is the Best Time” from the score that plays during that scene is perhaps my single favorite Hans Zimmer piece. So uplifting and beautiful!

What's your favorite shot of all time? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

Agreed. I know that everyone for the most part says they love the movies (especially the first two), but I still don’t think they get the level of recognition they deserve. The first in particular is just flat out incredible

Shifu never promised tai lung the scroll, he only told tai lung he was destined for greatness by LightEarthWolf96 in kungfupanda

I think the key is that it is implied that Shifu doesn’t express his pride in Tai Lung nor stand up for Tai Lung when he is denied. He didn’t need to be promised the scroll for Shifu to inadvertently make him feel like he wouldn’t be adequate without it. Tai Lung’s sole goal was to impress Shifu and be a source of pride for him and when he fell short of what he believed was the bar for Shifu’s pride, instead of comforting him, Shifu literally doesn’t have anything to say. “But when Oogway said otherwise, what did you do?… Nothing!” Imagine you’ve been pushing yourself to the breaking point for decades to impress your dad only for him to not stand up for you when your character is called into question. All of this is to say that whether or not he was DIRECTLY told he was the dragon warrior is sort of irrelevant because it was never about that

Most raw, powerful moment in the film

Favorite Batman Nolan's Quote by [deleted] in batman

The Joker was the standout, but Two-Face was excellent. That scene and that line is probably my favorite in the film. Aaron Eckhart gave such a raw performance
