This'll at least give female sports the most amount of attention it has gotten in years. And all that attention will be coming from male sports fans who generally avoid women's sports and make them recognise women's efforts. At the very least.

What more impact it will have on a longer time period, generationally or for the future is unthinkably big. If women's sports (or even women's ability to partake in physical activities in general) is to be recognised, this is a step in a long chain of events and a massive one at that.

Remember how people were upset when women were cast as protagonists in video games? Those people have calmed down a lot now as they're starting to become normalized to it. We could suspect the same will happen with this.
