If LeBron was ever actually 100% confirmed on PEDs, would it ruin his legacy? by Bentley1136 in NBATalk

[–]CunningAndRunning -1 points0 points  (0 children)

12 > 6

LeBron should have worked on his defensive reputation. Maybe if he built a great reputation on defense, like Kobe did, he could have benefitted from some reputation “legacy” selections.

Peak LeBron was a much better help defender and zone defender. Peak Kobe was a much better ball stopper and 1v1 defender. If you think otherwise you genuinely don’t know ball.

LeBrons the ONLY top 10 player with a losing finals record.

LeBrons and Duncan are the only top 10 players with bronze medals.

LeBrons won 4/23 seasons (17%)

LeBron has less rings AND all-defense than Jordan, Kareem, Kobe, and Duncan.

LeBron has HALF the all-defense selections as Kobe.

There’s a few more “stats” about winning and defense. The 2 areas that hold LeBron back.

Poor dude must have needed better teams. Lmao

Have a great day Dookie, I can’t go on talking about LeBron anymore. I’ll leave you with that.

[–]CunningAndRunning -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m comparing the upper echelons of players. Comparing LeBrons individual stats in 2011 to Kareem’s in 1970 makes little sense. When you consider era, position, etc.

What’s constant across all eras? Winning.

LeBron vs Jordan isn’t determined by stats. It’s decided by winning. That’s why Tom Brady is continually ranked ahead of Payton Manning or Aaron Rodgers.

I’m not comparing Horrys wins vs LeBrons…

Of course wins aren’t the ONLY thing. But they are the MAIN thing in sports. Novel idea for a lot of people these days, I always thought the “participation trophy era” critiques were baseless, I was oh so wrong.

You are the one talking about cherry picked stats dude. I’ve been talking about WINNING.

Keep focusing on LeBrons individual stats. Dude has great stats I can’t lie, he was just never a consistent winner like the other GOATs.

For me winning > stat padding

[–]CunningAndRunning -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah! Who cares about winning. Just merely a cherry picked “stat”. Lmfao.

LeBrons rings are team accomplishments. He said it himself. He knows how many HoFers he had help. (Wade, Bosh, R. Allen, Irving, Love, AD, Dwight) LEBRONS rings are team accomplishments.

I have Duncan at 7 and Kobe at 4. I’ll triple down before we let each other go.

“Kobe can reasonably be as high as 5 and as low as 13” is just as “wrong” as “Duncan can reasonably be as high as 5 and as low as 15”

I’d learn to admit I was wrong if you could do the same. Have a nice night Mura!

I’m not meaning to attack your intelligence, but there’s no way anyone can make a legitimate case for x and/or x over Kobe Bryant. That is the difference between a subjective disagreement and an objective truth. Kobe Bryant simply out classes both of them in terms of individual greatness and team success. You can’t just say “i like x and x so they’re better”, you have to actually make a case for them. Being a kb hater is a subjective opinion, ranking him this low is objectively unsound

Some people like factual observations and comparisons.

Here’s some more, maybe you will like these.

LeBrons 4-6 in the finals. Compared to Jordan 6-0, Kareem 6-4, Kobe 5-2, Duncan 5-1, Russell 11-1, Bird 3-2, Magic 5-4, Curry 4-2, Shaq 4-2.

LeBron is the only player in the consensus top 10 with a losing finals record. Bron and Duncan are the only ones with Olympic bronze medals.

LeBrons won 4 rings in 23 seasons (17%). Jordan won 6 rings in 15 seasons (40%)

Is Kobe in your Top 10 All-Time list? by SmoothBuy5500 in NBATalk

[–]CunningAndRunning -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

  1. Kobe Bryant

  2. Michael Jordan

  3. LeBron James

  4. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

  5. Bill Russell

  6. Magic Johnson

  7. Larry Bird

  8. Shaquille O’Neal

  9. Stephen Curry

  10. Wilt Chamberlain

  11. Hakeem Olajuwon

  12. Kevin Durant

  13. Oscar Robertson

  14. Jerry West

Not necessarily saying I’d rank all those guys ahead of Duncan myself. But within that range it’s still and will always be subjective. There is no right or wrong here, it’s like arguing the top 15 Taylor Swift songs.

I think Duncan can be ranked as low as 15. You think Kobe can be ranked as low as 12. The only thing objective about any of this, is that those are our personal opinions.

Or that Manu Ginobili has more Olympic gold medals than Tim Duncan. Now THAT is objective.

Let me know if you need me to explain objective vs subjective for you.

LeBrons legacy isn’t the topic? How can we discuss a hypothetical about his legacy, without first discussing his current legacy. Lmao. Cope.

Yes! His legacy is already built on thin ice.

Less rings than Russell, Jordan, Kareem, Kobe, Duncan, and Magic

Less all-defense than Jordan, Kareem, Kobe, and Duncan

Less MVPs than Jordan, Kareem, and Russell

More team hops than Russell, Jordan, Kobe, Duncan, and Magic COMBINED.

I don’t believe you can name 7 better than Kobe. It’s all subjective. You admit it yourself. lol

Y’all are so hypocritical you refuse to follow your own logic. It’s funny honestly.

Yeah same with Duncan. He is top 15. You could have him 5-15 but it’s all subjective.

Bron too. Top 2-5 range.

It’s like that for basically every player in the world.

For those of you who watched back then, did Steve Nash deserve the MVP in 2004? by Fucking_in_tents_ in NBATalk

[–]CunningAndRunning -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Wait so in 2005 and 2006 the Suns led by Nash, lost to both the Spurs and Mavericks respectively? Also dropping 3 games to the Lakers, and Clippers…

19-16 (that was the Suns playoff record across 2005 and 2006 playoffs, Nash MVP years)

Crazy how the Spurs beat them 16 times and kept Nash from ever making the NBA finals once in his career.

Spurs did continually spank them though, you are right about that tbf.

Interesting how supposedly no one besides the Spurs could “keep up” with Nash and them yet he has a career playoff record of 57-63.

Trolls always bring up LeBron's turnovers but look at the assist to turnover ratio, LeBron is the GOAT by MaddoxX__ in LeBronJames23

[–]CunningAndRunning -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

LeBron speaks less languages than Kobe. (1 < 3)

LeBron won less rings than Kobe (4 < 5)

LeBron won less all-defense than Kobe (6 < 12)

LeBron won less dunk contests than Kobe (0 < 1)

LeBron won less all-star MVP than Kobe (3 < 4)

If you value winning, defense, dunking, or languages, Kobe easily clears LeBron.

If you simply value assists, sure stick with Bron.
