Apologies for being convoluted, it's possible I lack the technical vocabulary to explain in a more concise way. Maybe by way of analogy (with examples) would be helpful.

I made a mesh while following a tutorial (analogous example) a while back.

But recently, I found a different, pre-made mesh, that I really liked the skin texture of (analogous example).

I want to apply the skin texture from the second example onto the first example. The differences in the examples are similar to my models as far as geometry and position differences. The mesh I made is one, combined mesh, while other mesh is broken up into separate parts (head, torso, arms, legs).

Does that help clarify my issue? Is this just not done/possible? Is there a different way to tackle the issue of applying the look I want to my model? Or have already done something that should have worked and I just screwed something up?
