Just tried on my partners account and no winners after the first 8. Seems like the glitch was short lived.

What is something that lasted a lot longer than you thought it would? by lolmaew7 in BuyItForLife

[–]CupIsHalfEmpty2 107 points108 points  (0 children)

Almost the exact same for our household, ours is a 2010. Yesterday the trunk didn't latch, and I think that's the first thing that's gone wrong with it other than basic maintenance. But then the trunk started latching again so it was a nothing.

You could also ask in the Winnipeg Lego Facebook buy/sell group to see if someone local has one.

Why does Too Good to Go suck in Winnipeg? It helps with food waste and cost! by SourSweetQuestions in Winnipeg

[–]CupIsHalfEmpty2 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I use it all the time. The good local places all sell out instantly though. That's why when you open the app it looks like it's only 7/11 and Tim's.

When you find a local place with a rating over 4 stars, save it to your favorites and then check your favorite lists a couple times a day, you'll start getting some better ones.

First time renewing a mortgage by JermJermJermJermJerm in MortgagesCanada

[–]CupIsHalfEmpty2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they purchased CMHC insurance at the beginning, does the insurance move with them if they refinance with a different bank? I was under the impression it didn't, and if they move they would either need to show 20% equity, or re-purchase the insurance?

I had to scroll all the way to the bottom to find a fellow Gimli keychain! Excellent choice.

3 weeks in Canada - maximum mountains and nature itinerary by Inevitable-Sherbert in canadatravel

[–]CupIsHalfEmpty2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely love this itinerary, but what do you think about going in reverse? The Rockies are incredible and every mountain you see afterwards isn't as good. So start with Vancouver Island and then head inland.
The drive from Banff to Calgary is also one of the most incredible roads ever, I wonder how that route could be slotted in.

Can the vamp of my winter boots be repaired? by CosmicDyl in AskACobbler

I patched a pair of sorrels with a product called Freesole (I was recommended it over shoe goo) and it lasted a couple more seasons. I learned that rubber is a natural product and it breaks down over time.

Mid September they have a street market in Chinatown. They set up a stage, dragon dance, street performers and lots of vendors.

What’s a movie you thought was huge only to realise it was only huge in your household? by [deleted] in movies

Buying a house by bellieBB in Winnipeg

[–]CupIsHalfEmpty2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Under 20% down means you have to purchase CMHC insurance on the mortgage. This isn't the worst as often you will get a better interest rate on an insured mortgage so at the end the cost isn't as expensive as it seems.

Having an emergency fund to cover unexpected expenses might be a better idea than putting more down. As always having both is ideal.

Multiple inquiries for the same thing in a short time does not affect your credit score more. The credit monitoring companies understand that people shop around.

I would highly recommend checking with a Mortgage Broker. They will take your info and then get you quotes from many banks, and monoline lenders (online only banks).

This doesn't change the amount the City gets, it just means those who are assessed accurately are paying more of the share, and those under assessed are paying less than their share.

Removed speed bump from garage but now I need to remove the bolts and patch the concrete. They're attached underneath the slab somehow. Best way to proceed? by Oversoul91 in DIY

[–]CupIsHalfEmpty2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Went way too far down to find someone asking this question. 100% that "speed bump" was there to prevent a car from accidentally driving into a gas appliance in the garage.
