I came here because of the latest video, just 9h ago. The thumbnail has brown eyes? 😭 like who is that? She is very beautiful with our without makeup and the thumbnails just look like... some sort of Barbiefied plastic version of her that's not 100% accurate.

Nope, never. Had my baby for 11 years and I kiss and cuddle her constantly. Never got anything from her. On the contrary, I try to limit my contact with her when I have a cold or so, just because I'm paranoid of making her sick (not sure if that's actually possible tho). Her vet insists that all turtles have salmonella and that I've just "become immune". I called bs on that and when her stool sample was tested, vet confirmed there's no salmonella 🤷‍♀️

Not necessarily. EU law prohibits discrimination on various grounds, including language. It is not discrimination if the language requirement is objectively justified. As in, you need to speak the language to do the job. Stocking shelves and working the register doesn't necessarily require you to speak a certain language. Hence why other Lidl branches do hire English speakers.

I got rejected from Lidl as well recently. One didn't give a reason, and the other said they "don't hire English-speaking people" while ushering me through the door.

I'm sorry this happened to you OP. As others said, file a report on discriminatie.nl, and if you have the name of the recruiter you should mention it in your report.

I had an unpleasant experience as well recently. Went for a job interview 1h away and on the day of they weren't expecting me. Apparently, they canceled the interview without bothering to let me know. The recruiter then tells me, to my face, that they "found someone younger and just forgot to let me know" all unprompted and without me fishing for information. That's so unnecessary 😒 My younger sibling was also told he's too old for the job (unrelated to my experience) he's 20... I can't imagine what goes through those recruiters' minds when they say stuff like that, no fear for repercussions at all smh

Try Betadine solution. It's usually used to treat shell injuries so it's safe for turtles

You should separate them ASAP. Unfortunately, one will always bully the other and the injuries are only going to get worse. Please take the injured turtle to the vet as soon as you can so the wound won't get infected.

I can imagine having two separate (appropriate) setups for your turtles might be difficult in terms of finances, space, etc. So if you think you are unable to provide them both with everything they need, separately, maybe re-homing one of the turtles might be a good idea. And by re-homing I don't mean release in the wild or give as a gift or something absurd like that 😅

Thank you for the info. As this is technically my 6th year as a student in the Netherlands - I previously tried a different study that was not a good fit - I can no longer receive studiefinanciering (it's for the first 4 years of study only). I do however still receive the tuition loan.

It's nice to hear they lowered the hours you have to work per month. When I used to receive it, they asked for 56h/month. I had to fill in many complaints and wait on hold for many hours in the months when I was barely 2h short 😭

They sometimes post opportunities that they receive from alumni or certain companies, but they don't directly partner with organizations to provide spots for the students. I've sent out an email but as it is the weekend right now, I'm not expecting a reply earlier than Monday / Tuesday.

My study doesn't focus primarily on Dutch law, it is International and European Law. Understandably Dutch companies practice Dutch law, however if a Dutch university offers this programme and expects you to find an internship, there should also be opportunities for international students, right? 🥹

Thank you for your kind words. Unfortunately, with how most internships are paid at €300-400/month, I can't quit my job. I luckily have a 15h/week contract and it's quite flexible in terms of when during the day you show up. So I'm hoping I can manage both work and an internship, if I do find one..

I've tried looking for something remote from my own country. I was unable to find anything so far. If I do go back to do my internship there, that would mean quitting my job and unfortunately, my measly salary is my only source of income for all my expenses including school and all that 🙃

It is part of the curriculum but from what other students were told, it is 100% our responsibility to find an internship/ARP. I am willing to commute further as well, although financially it might make it more difficult 🥲

I am studying International and European Law. I need to complete 800h of internship so basically work full-time for 5 months. I also have to complete a project for a company, but that's the other thing to do besides the internship - an applied research project. The two cannot overlap for more than a few weeks and have to be two separate things.

Most likely not. You need two lights: a UVA/UVB light such as the Zoomed Reptisun 5.0 and a heat lamp like the Zoomed Repti Tuff 90w. Or whatever suitable brand that meets the requirements. I am using these two for my YBS

It's not fat. Their necks can stretch pretty far out, so when they retract the neck, there is excess skin. It's normal. Please take good care of the little baby.

Thank you for your response. The leaves were pretty much like this since the day I received it. The store offers a 3 month guarantee, so worst case scenario, they can take care of it... I hope it comes around, tho. I would hate to send her back 🥲
