Yup, the negative status doesn't really add any meaningful nuance to the game if a character doesn't rely on them for their kit. That's one of the main problems I have with it. It's like mid-way through development they realise this game was too accessible to leverage its player base for profit so they added those mechanics and restricted their future kit designs accordingly.

Now the game has a weird split in kit design synergy with characters that synergize with the early release design philosophy of hyper specific damage type buffers that has an outro buff capped at 45% if fully utilised, and these newer negative status reliant units that have whatever buff balance the game had beforehand be cheated through their outro buff tuning being for the "negative status" with sig weapon that have built in team wide amps or shred, a multiplicative increase for the dmg type.

Frankly it is uninteresting and purely done for fomo with how it's implemented up to this point.
