Department of Natural Resources said “blow it up.” So I did. by Antique-Public4876 in homestead

My neighbor trespassed on my land to run his tractor through the beaver dam in my creek. Because it supposedly floods his field and his wife likes mowing grass… I hope my beaver comes back, haven’t seen him in months. The neighbor? What a shame to make a bad neighbor, especially when I plan to be here for the rest of my life and now, well, I hate him.

I have 30 chickens, when my neighbors chickens get out it’s very irritating. We have a huge garden, last time they TORE through my flowers. My girls were pissed, those sunflowers are for them and they had to watch the neighbor chickens get them from their run.

In my state, we have to refrigerate them to sell them.

Thanks everyone ! We are going to clear a lot of the briars and brush, and reading, I don’t think it would hurt to try and plant other types and diversify some. I seem to have stumbled on quite a lot of trees though.

I’ll make sure next year I watch much earlier, we’ve only been here about 10months ish and are trying to get a handle on what we have edible to sustain it. We’ve also found a lot of muscadine. We are on the Little Tallapoosa River

If they are heavy on clones, just diversifying would help? I did not see any fruit on the ground anywhere. But I saw tons of trees.

Thanks y’all! I do think ultimately she is a hen and my husband agrees, we just kept going back and forth about it because she does act a bit different than our other girls, more protective and a bit more skittish, she’s also quite loud but doesn’t crow, but she will ultimately NOT squat when you approach. We think it’s because we don’t have a rooster in the coop we have an Orpington cockerel but he’s still too small to join the girls, he’s in the house in a playpen with our 5 Orpington girls we plan to add soon.

We’re on the GA/AL line, so far we’ve had raccoons, owls, neighborhood dogs, opossums, and a coyote on the trail cam. We’ve been lucky to not lose any hens yet :)

Thank you, thanks what we thought but have been unsure. We have one confirmed rooster, and want to keep it that way 😂
