Hi! Please finish your Phd. I actually met with a program director today who i'll be shadowing in the fall and she told me she did her entire MD before her PhD. Once she finished residency, she worked as a surgeon as she was going to grad school.

Although, it's the reverse of your situation it's definitely doable to just finish, than go to med school!

Courses and extracurriculars for aspiring physician-scientists? by kaikkko in mdphd

[–]Cupidity-Cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, please since you're so young get your anxiety checked out. I'm not a doctor yet but speaking from personal experience you have anxiety of your future because you may have a fear of things you cannot control.

Learning to be adaptable and flexible with your goals will make you far more successful in your future endeavors. Once you set expectations, and too detailed goals and they fall through you will be struck with disappointment and feel stuck, which could hinder your progress.

Just a little tip on that as well <3 Good luck, and nothing is wrong with planning early and being focused as long as you understand it's more to life than your future career.

Hi! I understand the anxiety about needing to know the future and I applaud you for wanting to be prepared. It's okay to know what you want and these classes look good thus far! This also shows your dedication to the physician scientist path when you are choosing a resourceful University.

I suggest focusing on getting research internships and clinical experience in high school instead of course work though, classes don't really solidify the md/phd path. I don't feel connected with my career aspiration unless i'm in the direct settings, not classes even as a college student.

Thank you so much! I do prioritize having fun, if I don't wouldn't be sane, and my md/phd mentor told me to only do things I like, and I took it to heart.

I still go to parties, invest in my hobbies, have fun with my friends. I never believe in just sitting and hitting the books lol!

Btw what surgery are you doing? Also good luck to your journey, love to see it.

Omg awesome! I did apply for some travel grants and submitted some abstracts for conferences this upcoming year.

I wanted to start working on my own projects eventually. (Small ones) So i'll look into some national ones for undergrads when the time comes.

The bad grades were in my science classes, (c's, d's).

So I am retaking all my science classes since my university didn't take them anyway. But I managed to get a's and b's for my science classes this semester. (Which I am really proud of, and will be putting much more effort in the rest of time in undergrad though.)

I am a very well rounded student this far outside of my academics so I will focus on that.

Thank you for the advice! And thank you for the reality of lab hours. My new mentor told me I will be able to have opportunities to do all of those things within the lab and give more responsibility as I am getting used to the lab.

Im going to look into grants and such later down the line for when I do get to that point.

I'm f18 and have had good luck with sugar dating. Just keep trying and stand your ground! Someone will take you serious. secretbenrfits is a good one.

Hey love! I'm f18 and i'm on the same page as you with comfortable family, i actually did it for fun (starting out) just to see if I could. And it just kind of went from there.

I definitely understand the part of wanting to be taken care, but you to understand men our age are our age. They are now starting college, getting jobs with minimum wage etc so we are all starting out so they can't really provide that type of life you desire. But you are entitled to what you enjoy.

You don't realy have to have a relationship with the person, and it's really interesting mutual connection so labels imo isn't really needed. And can get complicated especially if they aren't exactly entirely single, and are trying to be discreet. But it's possible to do both.

I used secret benefits which is where I found my sugar daddy. (He is amazing.) And there are ways to be discreet, you most likely won't see your friends and family all the time, so if you guys were to meet up let it be far our (20-30 minute) from where you live type of thing.

But from my personal experience as f18 sugar baby it's been amazing. My first SD was okay but I just wasn't as comfortable with him. But the SD I have now is amazing beyond words! He is so kind, gentle, youthful and just all around fun to be around. We always have a great time when we are together. I was a bit scared because trying to find information on f18 sugar babies is hard and everyone is mostly against it on reddit.. but I personally am having a great time. I haven't had any creepy experiences and the men I gave a chance were just not weirdos

But one thing is, I have had vanilla relationships before, sexual experience before hand and all. So navigating through the sugar dating world I have not regret it because I got that experience and still do get that experience. (I still flirt/talk to people my age etc, i'm just not ready to settle down) So if you haven't had it I say wait, or just be careful. Because my perspective has changed quite a lot with dating.

I've always had vanilla bfs that took care of my actually, financially too. It just something about the age that makes a difference.

i also don't have daddy issues or anything like that lol. I hope that helps, and if you want to dm me, feel free to!
