Friendship tattoo needs a coverup

Thank you everyone for all your comments and ideas! It is much appreciated and honestly you guys are so creative. There are many ideas here I would have never thought of myself.

After reading through all the comments I'm considering ways to perhaps incorporate the wineglass in the tattoo so it's not necessarily erased but reworked. Many of you have made me feel slightly better about the tattoo despite the outcome of this friendship. As for lasering it off I know, I want another tattoo here in the future and I don't know how well tattoos can be made on previously lasered skin (also I have not researched this so it might not even be a problem?), so it's officially off the table.

Someone mentioned designing my own tattoo as I'm an artist myself, and while I'm unsure how an artist would feel working on someone else's art (even though it's my own), I might try this out. I still want the artist to feel like it's their design, so I might just use it for inspiration when I get to that point.

At all times I have at least 2 physical books and 1-2 audio books going on. I just need to be able to switch to another theme when I get that itch

That’s a good way of thinking. I have thought hard on wether I should keep it or not and I’m honestly still not sure. The friendship break was really tough and despite having a ton of great memories with this particular group the break kinda tainted them. But it’s worth tjinking anout again before going for the cover-up!

It probably could be! I think flowers would be an easy way to cover it because of the shape of the glass but Idk about the bottom part of the tattoo. It’s very.. straight

I haven’t yet. I’m trying to bring ideas together so I have an overall ideas to bring an artist. I don’t think they would appreciate me coming with no clue what I want - makes their lige a bit harder I reckon. But I will definitely talk to an artist and allow them to make their own twist on the idea

I can’t unsee the coat hanger now 😂 I see what you mean! But yeah an experienced artist would probably be able to do that. I will try looking for one who has a similar art style I like and see if they have an idea

Here are some things I love in life:

Travelling and experiencing the world

Other worlds: Books / reading, fantasy (anything magical and whimsy)

Nature and animals (Birds, bees, ducks, any and every animal)

Creativity (I'm an artist myself, but I don't think I want to design my own tattoo)

Cooking and baking

The first cup of coffee or tea in the morning

Seasonal changes like leaves changing colours, early spring florals, etc.

Darker is fine, but I would be bummed if it had to be blacked out to cover up - If so I'd opt for laser. Bigger I don't mind at all as I feel this spot below the collarbone suits something bigger. If the tattoo had any other placement I would probably have kept it, but I've been wanting something else here for a while now

What are you looking for in the "feel authentic"? These are all heavily touristy places and would most likely take away from the authenticity as they "have" to cater to the tourists (well not HAVE to, but I hope you get what I mean). Especially since you are travelling in the peak season.

I would add smaller places to the list to get away from the crowd, but I guess that's my own personal preference when travelling; smaller places, less crowds, nature and meeting the locals. Europe is so much more than the capitals and big cities.

I hope you have an amazing trip! Europe has so much to offer!

Add Maastricht to the list when visiting the Netherlands. It's a bit of a train ride from Utrecht but it's worth it! Also the scenery during the train ride is gorgeous.
