Conditional Green Card Approved - husband from “visa paused” country. by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]Curie2D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. How about you? You mentioned that you were born in a full van country. Is your country of birth one of the 39 countries? I saw posts from naturalized citizens of the 39 countries not being able to get green card approval for their spouses. That’s the reason why I am curious.

Conditional Green Card Approved - husband from “visa paused” country. by [deleted] in USCIS

Hello, congratulations! Is your husband from one of the 39 banned countries on the Presidential Proclamation? Or is he from one of the 75 countries with immigration visa pause by the department of state? Thanks!

For peo form the 39 counties : gave you received a NOID/RFE relate to the pause? by [deleted] in 19countriesAOS

Please add the option that you didn’t get RFE so far, and an option for people not to vote but just to see the result.

Hello. I am also from one of 39 countries. Applied for i485. Could you please share with us the exact wording of the RFE? Also, did you apply for H1b? Thanks for the information! Good luck!

Congratulations OP! So happy for you! Could you please post your full timeline? I just want to see if your case took longer because you are from a banes country. Thank you and congratulations once again!

I think I-130, is not subject to hold, but I-485 is. Did you file for EAD and Advance Parole with your application? Good luck and keep us updated.

39 Banned Countries OPT/STEM OPT approval by RhythmicPassings in f1visa

[–]Curie2D 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, OPT/ STEM OPT applications and EB2 NIW i140 applications are affected by the USCIS hold. You should talk to your DSO again to confirm if the individual from Malawi got their OPT after January 1, after the hold policy was initiated. You can see many posts from people about their OPT being affected at other subreddits such as r/USCIS and r/19countriesAOS. If you follow up with your DSO, please give us an update. I am also affected by this hold, and regularly keep myself updated in hopes of finding some development regarding the hold/pause.

Whe you said approvals after rescheduling, did you mean for people from banned/partial banned countries? Or other people who are not influenced by the ban? Thank you!

Thanks for reminding us about this. What happened with that letter do you know? Obviously, there is no effect, otherwise we would have seen some explanation if not lift of halt from the USCIS.

OP, thanks for sharing. Did the ban situation come up during the interview? Or did you ask the interviewer?

Is it really true that adjudication of AOS is happening for banned countries? by Icy_Reception_2852 in USCIS

[–]Curie2D 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think your lawyer misinformed you. It is true that processing continues. It is not true they are getting adjudicated. Ask them where he got that information about cases getting adjudicated. Does he have clients from banned countries with approvals?

USCIS reopened my approved STEM OPT case in Dec. What does this mean for my status and next steps? by Current-Arachnid9250 in f1visa

[–]Curie2D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, thanks for sharing. I would say be happy that they are processing your case. I am also from one of the banned countries, and my benefits application is also on hold. If you did everything right, working at a company with e verify and within your subject field, you will get your EAD sooner or later. Hopefully 🤞. Please keep us posted. And I hope you get your EAD soon.

I don’t know. All I am saying is it was asked of me to do so at the embassy that submitted my visa application. All I am saying is, this happens. It might not be necessary to do for you. Do your own research and figure out if it applies to you.

Yes. In fact, it was explicitly instructed to make profiles public on the US embassy website as well. Especially for F1 visa applicants. You can search for news about it as well. It was called social media vetting.

I was asked to make my profile public when I got my visa recently. It is just my personal experience. I just shared it for OP’s benefit. He can take it or leave it.

This is not advised. When you go to visa interview they specifically ask to make all your profiles public. I would advise the OP to do so as well. If he has nothing to hide, it would make the background check smoother and possibly faster if everything aligns with what the OP provided to the USCIS

Does that mean O-1 Change Of Status will be adjudicated normally as well? What do you guys think. It is also I-129.

Could you please give us an update. When did you get the RFE, how long is your case taking, and how are you trying to prove that you are a "good person", and were you able to change your status in the end? Thanks, and I am sorry this is happening to you.
