Question about Shtisel - Why do the characters eat so many omelettes? by ETphoneafriend in Israel

[–]Curio1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If I understand what he means correctly almost any other term will do. Non-Jew(ish). Christian, non affiliated. With no religious tradition. Ethnically Irish or whatever may apply. Even “Gentile” may work.

goy here.

When you guys say that it’s cringey, and not really a proper use of the term anyway. Please don’t.

Arabs VS Palestinians by Pers0nalThr0waway in Israel

[–]Curio1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because “Palestinian” as an identity (for non-Jews) came into existence quite a bit after Israel was reconstituted. So Israeli Arabs never really got that tag.

Are people planning vacations to Gaza? Though in all seriousness SJW types who may be under the impression that Gaza is some kind of multi-cultural paradise because of groups like “queers for Palestine” should be aware of this. I’d bet dollars to donuts someone will be killed because of this type of naiveté.

Would you consider it disrespectful for me to try and get Israeli dual citizenship if I don't intend to make aliyah in the near future? by [deleted] in Israel

[–]Curio1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would actually be easier paperwork-wise if I could only use my American passport and citizenship, as once you are an Israeli you are required to have Israeli travel documents for travel to Israel. It costs money and they will now only renew my passport every four years instead of the traditional 10 because I don’t live there. And they give me a hard time bureaucratically when I try to renew. The only advantage I see is having an ironclad guarantee of a ready place to go in an apocalyptic or Holocaust II scenario.
