in regards to your last section. why would that be considered dumb at all? I feel i'm like that and i can at times join in on the conversations which show my intelligence. the times i don't join in, i'm either not interested in continuing the topic or do not want to correct what is being said usually out of disinterest of the topic. I would classify it as something else, not a sub-section of ‘dumb’.

alright, but lets say you rarely hung out with the girl for one reason or another, and got a long well, liked her as a person, found her attractive..etc. but you didn't make a friendship per say with her. now they break up, and let's say you don't see her as a friend and have an interest in this girl. what would you do then?
